We have always been treated with respect and utmost care, from our infant grandchild to my 93 year old mother. I have worked with him as both a client and for church funeral arrangements. AJ is compassionate and competent.

AJ, the owner and a gentleman, arranged my Mother’s funeral with noteworthy kindness and candor. Though it may be his business, at no point did I feel like it was a business transaction. His demeanor was sincere and welcoming, and his actions conveyed a genuine concern with the well-being of my siblings and I. This eased the pain somewhat, while planning the funeral for our Mother, who had unexpectedly passed only a few days before.A great friend of mine, who is a mortician, inquired as to how everything had gone with planning afterward; she was very pleased with how he handled our arrangements and the suggestions he made pertaining to the viewing of our deceased Mother....read full review

AJ, the owner and a gentleman, arranged my Mother's funeral with noteworthy kindness and candor. Though it may be his business, at no point did I feel like it was a business transaction. His demeanor was sincere and welcoming, and his actions conveyed a genuine concern with the well-being of my siblings and I. This eased the pain somewhat, while planning the funeral for our Mother, who had unexpectedly passed only a few days before. A great friend of mine, who is a mortician, inquired as to how everything had gone with planning afterward; she was very pleased with how he handled our arrangements and the suggestions he made pertaining to the viewing of our deceased Mother. To paraphrase her as close as possible, "Funerals are a business and his decision was in your family's best interest, not his, and that speaks volumes." The building was very nice, inside and out, had a quaint feel and the lighting was warm. There is more than shown here, but this will provide a general idea. The home had two rooms available for use, the viewing room and an adjacent gathering room, but COVID restrictions dictated how many people could be in at any given time. The funeral home was easy to find, and parking was limited, but suitable for small or medium sized wakes. I highly recommend AJ, the Young Funeral Home, and would absolutely work with him again, but hopefully not anytime soon.
