Every person at this company went out of their way to give great leadership, expertise, support, and genuine care in moving my mother out of her home in northern Westchester and into assisted living in CT. I cannot recommend this company more.
Hired McAvey for an last minute move. They had availability and came the next morning. Bill and his crew showed up when they said they would, all five of them were thoroughly professional, polite, careful, and respectful. They asked before using the bathroom, they were careful with the stuff and the house, they were nice to the kids, they worked super hard all day. The price was completely reasonable and there were no surprises at all - I paid the agreed-upon price. Moving in general was a pain, but these guys made the “moving the stuff” part of it the easiest part.
McAvey packed framed paintings and labeled each one, mirrors, glasses, china, five barrister bookcases (with glass fronts), plus they disassembled and assembled a dining table, a wrought iron bed, and a large screen television with base. And they moved a piano. No issues. No breakage. The team is efficient, professional, and a pleasure to work with. My family used McAvey seven times over 20 years including a 2026 move from Manhattan to Chicago, several 2018-2023 Westchester moves, plus a Manhattan move in March 2020, the height of the Covid outbreak. A remarkable team.
