First time at Syracuse Yoga and Whitney is someone who makes you feel comfortable and a joy to be around! She knew it was my first time there and checked in with me to make sure I understood my options for transitions before moving on. Whitney definitely has a calming presence to her and I would recommend her to everyone!
The teacher, Sophie, is skilled at describing each pose and transition so that students can practice in safety. The environment is welcoming, and the staff are intent on fostering community among themselves and the students.
I recently attended a yoga event run by the owner of Syracuse Yoga and had a great time! The vibe is super welcoming, comforting, and friendly. As an instructor, she cracked jokes throughout the class, which I thought was a really great way to make less experienced participants feel less self conscious. That might not be everyone's style, but I thought it was a nice change up from more straightforward, serious tone you might find in other studios. Also, she did a great job of breaking down more complex moves into easy steps to help students nail the form. The flow itself was a great balance of restful & simple moves, and more challenging moves -- but always perfectly paced, and never too much at one time. Great for beginners, and a good mix between strenuous and restorative. Also, it was just plain fun. Overall, this was a great time and quality guidance, and I would definitely be open to taking more classes with Syracuse Yoga. Would recommend anyone who is considering them to take the chance and try them out!
