“A neighbour has a half dead tree in his backyard which is not maintained - pruned, etc. During a recent storm the wind wrenched a 20 foot long limb from the tree, depositing it in my backyard, damaging my fence in the process. I reached out to one tree service and the owner came and said the limb came off of the tree in my yard and that the tree was dead and if not removed could do more damage due to its proximity to my house. He quoted me a price of $3500 to remove it. I reached out to Neumann's Tree Service (the German name is anglicized to Newman in terms of pronunciation) to get a additional quote. Tom Neumann came to my home and said the limb was from the neighbour's tree and pointed to where it had broken free. I could clearly see the spot Tom mentioned. So I asked him if my tree posed a threat to my house. He said, "There's nothing wrong with that tree but you may want to prune it" as it was brushing against the aforementioned neighbour's house. He quoted us a price of $550 - a bit easier to part with than the previous quote of $3500. The work was delayed a week due to the sudden arctic blast which included freezing rain and snow. When Tom's guys came they were efficient, professional and great about cleaning up after the downed limb was removed and healthy tree pruned. One thing to keep in mind: the truck they use is big and has a mulcher attached to its rear bumper so you will want to secure a place for the men to park the equipment. To wrap up: it was a good and enlightening experience. Tom is knowledgeable and honest and his men do a great job for a fair price. Kudos.“
