I had an excellent experience at this salon today. I came in for a wash, cut, and color, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the results. The staff was professional, attentive, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. The final look exceeded my expectations, and I truly appreciate the care and attention to detail. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality service and great results.

I’ve been coming to J&Y Hair Salon for many years, and they have consistently provided excellent service every time. The staff is friendly, professional, and always makes me feel welcome. They take the time to understand exactly what I want and always do a great job. The salon is clean, comfortable, and the overall experience is always pleasant. Honestly one of the best haircuts I’ve had in a long time. Super friendly team, no rush, and they actually take the time to get it right. The vibe is great and the results speak for themselves. 10/10 would recommend!

I’m really disappointed with my experience at J&Y Hair Salon. I came in for a blowout and clearly explained that I wanted a classic, flippy style, not pin-straight. My hair is one length, but I’ve never had an issue getting this type of blowout before.

The stylist responded with a very dismissive and unprofessional attitude, telling me that it was either a curling iron or straight, and that the flippy style I asked for wasn’t possible with my hair because it isn’t layered. Instead of trying to work with what I wanted or offering a helpful alternative, he was rude and unwilling to accommodate my request.

I ended up settling for a curved-under blowout, which came out nothing like what I asked for and honestly looked worse than expected. Despite the experience, I still tipped appropriately because I respect the work, but the overall interaction left a bad impression.

Customer service and communication really matter, and unfortunately this experience felt both unprofessional and unnecessarily unpleasant.

I was disrespected by Alex. He was very rude.

There are other reviews that have experienced similar unprofessional and rude responses from the female owner/receptionist. And please read the owner’s responses and the rude denial is evidence.
I was recommended by my best friend whose family and friends are frequent customers. I’ve been to J&Y aka Jason's hair salon several times for hair color and blow outs. I’ve sent friends, family and my clients there because my experience was good. Until a few days ago. The place was busy. I came in with my curly hair already washed and de tangled with a normal amount of leave in conditioner. The female owner who is also the receptionist puts a hand towel on my hair to remove excess water and then says I have to rinse my hair because it’s greasy. I inform her that it’s okay because it’s LEAVE IN CONDITIONER and that it’s not greasy. She continues to attempt to wipe it off several times rudely, rolling her eyes and speaking down to me that it’s greasy and it won’t dry. I told her that I’m 58 years old and that I know how to care for my hair. She wipes her hands on a towel as if she was disgusted and dismissively flings the towel that’s on my shoulders. Then begins to aggressively speak in her language to the male stylist that is going to service me. The male stylist looks at me with a scowl and literally says with an angry “intimidating” tone “you sit here” I sat there and he again attempted to wipe off the leave in. He doesn’t section my hair but now is separating my hair with the tips of his fingers and looking at my scalp as if my hair was gross. (If I wasn’t on my way out of town I would have left from the front desk owner’s reaction). He proceeded to blow out my hair, and put the blower directly onto my hair which actually burns hair. After a few minutes he realized that my hair was drying easily and there was no issue so he became more professional. I tipped him well (as I always do) despite his initial attitude. She walks over to him laughing and speaking to him in their language and he responds and she laughs and walks away. I get to the desk to pay and I say to the owner that I didn’t like the way she spoke to me and that “next time” I would appreciate being treated with the respect I gave her. Well she rolled her eyes and spoke to the customers behind me as to disregard what I was saying. I paid and left. I will never go back to them. They attempted to humiliate me because I refused to rinse out my LEAVE IN CONDITIONER. My money and loyalty will go to a business who is professional and treats ALL their customers with respect and kindness.

Everytime I want a good bouncy blow out this is my go to spot. My blowouts last all weekend long and everyone is so nice. Only downside is blowouts are walk in only and you should expect a wait.

I never leave reviews but I couldn’t hold my tongue on this. This was the worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life. I have natural red curly hair. 50% of my hair density is gone due to them using thinning scissors. I cried. I cried for about an hour because of the haircut. When the haircut was finished and the stylist clearly saw I did not like the haircut he ran away. Literally ran away to the back and did not show his face. I was hoping once I showered and put a mask on my hair my curls would come back but there gone and so is any volume my hair had. AVOID GETTING YOUR HAIR CUT HERE. Only good for wash and blowouts
