“This is our third time hiring Alto Contracting. Prior times were a set of retaining walls and steps, and to deal with a serious drainage issue that had resulted in sink holes. This time was for curbstones along a brick path. Of particular import is that Rick has an excellent knowledge built from years of experience on how to deal with various issues - in this case drainage issues, repairing an existing walkway and aesthetic choices. Prior times were building retaining walls on a steep slope and drainage issues. On our first job with him (the serious drainage problem) who had three contractors come and each explained their preferred approach. With thought Rick's made the most sense and went with him, and it addressed our issues. After that we didn't bother with other bids. On the retaining wall, his approach was better than what was suggested by our engineer (who agreed and then had to submit the plans to the local building inspector and planning board). We would definitely hire Alto for future projects and highly recommend.“

“t was truly a pleasure to work with Frank, Dawn, and the entire crew at Garon Fencing. Having a raised curved front porch, we required the need for a railing that enhances the safety of the landing, while having the following requirements: follow the natural flow of the perimeter of the porch and stairs, be durable, provide grip support, and complement the decor of a colonial-style home. The material we opted to use was wrought iron, and Frank was very helpful to assure we were meeting our needs and wishes. To ensure the railing followed the arc of the porch, Frank and his crew began the job by taking accurate measurements before constructing the railing in their own factory. During the installation process, you can see that the pride and attention to detail continues beyond the walls of the factory and the finished product is even better than what we imagined. The entire process from design to construction to installation was super-efficient. But most comforting was the continued communications that Dawn and Frank provided us throughout the process. It was a pleasure working with a company that delivers what is mentioned on the website!“

Contracting !!! had my kitchen & 2 bathrooms remolded in my condo - Hector was so helpful in recommendations & ideas - I wanted an open concept & he did a beautiful job - crown molding throughout the condo - gutted 2 bathrooms & kitchen - workers were fantastic -always on time, respectful & always cleaned up before they left - have never seen such meticulous tile work everyone that sees it compliments it - every thing is done to perfection every nook & cranny is perfect - Hector is easy & pleasant & knowledgeable to work with - from cabinets to flooring to lighting to bathrooms to installing appliances to the painting was all total professional work !!! “I recently did a gut renovation of my apartment which I purchased in 2005. Admittedly, given I had heard so many nightmare stories from friends and colleagues who did renovations, I certainly was anxious and skeptical about proceeding. When deciding which contractor to use I did some research including talking to the resident manager of my building. Dutchman repeatedly came up as being highly recommended. And given they did a number of apartment renovations in the building it was easy to see their work firsthand and talk to other tenants about their experience. I went with Dutchman and in the end, I am glad I did. They were true professionals, kept the premises clean, and their sub contractors for the most part did exceptional work and were attentive to even the most minor details. I would highlight Wilson Saeteros (project manager) as the MVP as he was absolutely terrific to work with - always a positive ‘can do’ attitude, responsive, effective, patient and trustworthy. There were road bumps along the way - to be expected - and when we hit a particularly significant road bump towards the end, the owner, Thomas Vandeveerdonk, personally stepped in, put a game plan in place and provided reassurance that the job would be completed to our satisfaction. It was evident in my interactions with Tom, client satisfaction is his #1 priority. I would absolutely recommend Dutchman to anyone considering a renovation.“

The project required many decisions and Eric worked great with us in providing guidance on how to best utilize our space. He was responsive and thoughtful about ways to minimize costs throughout the project. Eric also has a lot of experience working with our town and managing the permit process. We love the finished product and everything turned out great. “Kvan Epoxy did an incredible job refinishing my floors on two garages. After getting three separate estimates Kvan had the best rate and the most experience. Jose and Alberto, as well as the other guys were extremely friendly and helpful. They arrived when they said they would and completed the work quickly. The floors look BEAUTIFUL. The old floors were in bad shape with cracks and chipping and loose concrete, they now look brand new and smooth. They even filled various small cracks and repaired some holes that we had not discussed - going above and beyond the scope of work. “I was hired to help prepare a 100 year old townhouse for sale. It had been vacant for two to three years and needed some sprucing up. Never having owned a home, but being a life long NYC apartment dweller, I was nervous about the process of finding the right people to do everything that needed doing. Thank goodness I found NYC Brownstone first. Jack and Justin and their team are experts, honest, professional and responsive. Jack met with me and went over the entire 7 floors and we talked about what it made sense to do and what it did not. There was a leak over the door to the patio on the 2nd floor that turned out to be a big deal and was coming from the patio on the 3rd floor. The ceiling had to be ripped out and the patio pavers on the third floor had to be ripped out. Jack saved us $12K by suggeesting we not re-pave the patio, just leave the waterproof membrane once it was down since it looked good and the new owners would no doubt want to re-do it to their taste. Their crew was there for over three weeks and I got an email every evening with a report on who had been there and what had been accomplished. The work site was spotless, floors and woodwork were meticulously protected, everything was cleaned up every night. Six months later, when the place was finally staged, we discovered mold on a wall. I called NYC Brownstone and they were there the next day. Well, that turned into a leaking waste pipe buried in a brick wall. Once again, Jack and Justin and the team are as responsive, professional and organized as before. If I ever win the lottery and buy a brownstone, the first thing I will do is sign a maintenance contract with NYC Brownstone.“
