My first class with Coach Rico was nothing short of exceptional. He’s incredibly patient, especially with someone like me who sometimes can’t tell left from right lol. I really appreciated how gentle and understanding he was, and I never felt embarrassed, even when I struggled heavily. He took the time to clearly explain techniques I had never been exposed to before, which made a big difference.

Great school. All the coaches are very knowledgeable and dedicated to martial arts. The sensai and his wife are extremely kind and understanding. Highly recommend going here to practice any martial arts.
I joined Mayo Academy in March of 2024 and it's had a really positive impact on my life. All the coaches and sensei's are great teachers that are very knowledgeable and they push you to keep improving. The community at this academy is great and everyone here is friendly and willing to help you. Sensei Mayo and his wife created a wonderful atmosphere with this gym and if you're looking to learn martial arts in the Queens area then this is a great place to join.
