The people were nice and it seemed other barbers were experienced and confident. I was passed along to a woman who did not seem assured of herself, especially with clippers. She was not fully going against my head with the guard, but seemed to be hesitant, which made me uneasy. I ended up having to give a lot of feedback throughout and was frustrated to pay the full amount, to be honest. Felt like I was handed off to someone with much less experience.

Overall, an excellent experience—easily one of the best haircuts I’ve had near Columbia University. From the moment I walked in, the shop felt inviting and welcoming, and the attention to detail in the cut was truly unmatched.
I didn’t have an appointment when I first arrived right after opening, but Melvin was incredibly accommodating and offered to fit me in later that same day. What stood out even more was that he ultimately gave up part of his own lunch break to take care of me. That level of flexibility and genuine care really shows how much he values both new and returning clients.
