Came here initially to see if they could clean sneakers. Stayed to get my boots shined. The latter was better than the former. Stopped in since this place is around the corner from my office. These folks do a bit of everything so I figured they could probably clean my all-white stan smiths. Typically, I'll clean them myself with soap and water, then finish with a magic eraser, which gets them pretty clean. I handed them over. Two days and $25 dollars later, I had my sneakers back. They were ok. They were whiter than I could typically get them, but also not so white that I felt good about spending the $25. I'm not really mad about it though, it was an experiment as much as anything. I think in the future I'll just take the 10min to do my process and save the money. While I was there though I decided to sit down and get my boots shined. Price was $6 and I had never done it before... ever. The process was great and super relaxing. I left with my boots looking newer than the day I bought them. The woman shining them couldn't have been nicer. Contrast this with me shining my boots. I would shine them maybe once a year and it was always a bit of a process; I def didn't look forward to it. From now on, I think I'll be stopping by to shine my boots a few times a year. This place is great, convenient, and reasonable. I wouldn't get my shoes washed again, but a must-go for shoe/boot shining.
George Shoe Repair has amazing, personalized service! I had my favorite shoes from sneakers to exotic boots and shoes repaired and waterproofed when other shoe repair claimed they were beyond repair and not worth repairing. We all have our favorite shoes and George Shoe Repair will bring them back life like new. I am grateful I found this rare gem at Bryant Park when other repair shops have closed in my neighborhood. I almost gave up on repairing my shoes until walking into this location. Hands down - fantastic service, exceptional quality workmanship, attention to every detail - phenomenal service! I just learned you repair watches as well so I will be bringing in my watch this week!
I really love my boots, but they were falling apart at the bottom. Rocks were getting into my shoes, and when I got to the shoe repair shop, the repairman literally lifted the sole right off the shoe. That’s how weak the glue had gotten.
I had tried gluing the other side myself, which was a mistake, but he took them and brought me back my boots looking as good as new. Amazing job.
