I highly recommend Edris Salon in New York, NY. I have been a client of @Edris Nicholls for about 10 years, over which time I’ve had relaxed hair; natural, but flat-ironed hair; extensions; and now, Naturalista for the last 5 years. There are a number of reasons why I’ve been loyal to Edris and her team of talented artists all these years. Here’s a few. The quality of Edris’ work and that of the salon’s talented team is exceptional and customized for each client’s personality, work environment and daily maintenance needs. Edris is a master stylist artiste. (Voila!). I enjoy chatting with her about the latest events as she cuts my hair. Close by her side is Jason, who has styled my hair with Edris for about a year. I appreciate how he spends time educating me about styling tricks to use at home. The work chemistry between Edris and Jason is lovely to watch. They both have great senses of humor; love each other like “family”; and it’s nice to see the “mentor/apprentice” coaching the two share. I’ve had a number of color treatments by Josh. I love how he assesses your color treatment in parts based on the condition of your hair; the season; and what he thinks will look best for your complexion. The end results are always amazing. I’ve gotten many compliments on my color. The entire staff -- from Edris, Ronnie, to reception to support/assistant staff -- are all friendly, exceptionally polite and give off good energy. You, as the client, are pampered -- taken to the dressing booth to change and immediately offered a beverage as you sit and wait for the stylist. There is a lot love and laughter expressed by the team, allowing the client to bask in that experience for the time they are there. The salon is sunny, kept immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated. The reception/appointment desk (Tasha, Jamie, Jessica) is very welcoming and yet a well-oiled machine. Josh (colorist) also decorates and “window dresses” the salon based on season and holiday, which could include Easter bunnies, Halloween spiders, or Christmas décor based on when you book an appointment. It’s the small touches like this that gives the clients a great customer experience, far better than any other salon I have visited. I always look forward to my visits to Edris Salon. I feel great once I leave since my hair is always “runway fabulous” and I had a fun and restorative experience.

Joshua is a color wizard. And Edris is the master stylist. The salon is a gorgeous place full of light and good humor. I look forward to my visits.
