35 Patrick Ln #4, Poughkeepsie“STRONGLY RECOMMEND. Nil’s extraordinary patience and wisdom gave us the tools and confidence to help our dog be happier, better socialized, and more content. It took only *two hours* of classtime to bring our dog from scared and reactive around other dogs to calm and delighted (in a controlled environment). You have to put in the work at home, of course, but it’s a short distance between practicing and seeing the results.
We’ve worked with a handful of trainers online and in person -- Nil is hands down the most empathetic, clear, and effective. I realize now we had been working with people who just knew more than we did; working with Nil is light years past those experiences. She is a true expert not just in dogs, but in how to get humans to help their dogs have a higher quality of life.
STRONG STRONG RECOMMENDATION!“

1242A NY-52, Carmel Hamlet“Megan at Instinct Hudson Valley is truly the best. We hired her for a one-week puppy camp for our small doxiepoo puppy, Winnie, that was so effective and rewarding, we sent Winnie back for a two-week camp soon after. We loved how Winnie was able to become part of Megan’s family during her stay, while also getting consistent, immersive training.
Megan has a great approach to helping puppies develop natural impulse control and good habits using positive reinforcement only. It felt really reassuring to know we wouldn’t have to rely on commands all the time, because our puppy was learning to make better choices on her own. Megan is not only an incredibly knowledgeable trainer, but she also has two calm, well-trained dogs that Winnie could socialize with and learn from. Her kids were also so sweet with Winnie, and it was a bonus to give her early exposure to children.
After both stays, Winnie came home with major, noticeable progress. She’s naturally a very dependent and anxious puppy, and because we didn’t socialize her enough during the winter, we were struggling with early signs of separation anxiety and leash reactivity. Megan helped her build independence, emotional regulation, and confidence. On top of that, she came back with a toolkit of obedience skills, impulse control, much better leash behavior, and the ability to settle herself in situations that used to overwhelm her.
Even more importantly, Winnie came back happy and confident, and she clearly enjoyed the experience. Megan kept us updated throughout with photos, videos, and notes on her progress, and she continued to check in and provide guidance after we brought Winnie home. She really cares, and it shows.
We started out feeling overwhelmed with raising a puppy, but Megan’s support and training gave us the tools and peace of mind we needed to truly enjoy life with our puppy. We’re so grateful for Megan and would do it again in a heartbeat.“

I trust him more than any other vet around here, it’s nice to see a doctor that really care about the wellness of our animal as well as we do.“

461 Richardsville Rd, Carmel Hamlet“The only place to bring your dog in the Putnam Westchester and Dutchess area. I've even met people there from 4 and 5 hours away if you happen to need a safe, clean and wonderful environment for your dog this is absolutely the place. This place also has the ability to take dogs who are not good with other people or animals. Just super important to be absolutely honest about how your pet is so the owners know how to appropriately deal with it. There is no place else I trust with my four-legged children“
