I had very good experience here today. The lady who welcomed me and washed my hair is so kind! That’s not just a hair wash. It’s more like a head massage, which is super comfortable.
They assign a random hairdresser to me since this is the 1st time I visited MessLook and I knew nobody there. I still don’t know the hairdresser’s name unfortunately…but he is young and with red hat. He is so nice and professional. I like my new hair style.
About the price. Actually different people may have different budget. I moved from Bay Area to the east coast. The salon I went in the bay charged $75+ for long hair cutting and the price increased each year. Compared...read full review
Review based on my most recent (Jan 2023) experience. I've been coming to MessLook for about 5-6 years and never had an unpleasant experience until now. Stopped by on a rainy weekday for a hair cut (aka the salon wasn't busy at all). The lady that washed my hair seemed to be in such a rush. While washing/ rinsing my hair, she got water down the back of my shirt. Not only did she take forever to rinse my hair out (pretty sure she spent 15 minutes strictly rinsing conditioner out of my hair) but she was super rough and her hand kept knocking into my ear (w/ recent piercing). I flinched a few times, but she still didn't pay attention. When she sat me up, she then realized the whole back of my shirt was wet. The hair stylist mentioned to her to angle the hose diagonally to avoid getting water down customers' back but she didn't take his advice and simply said "well when they don't lay down up enough in the chair this happens" (basically it's my fault my shirt is all wet). The hair cut itself was okay (not exactly the cut I wanted), but the hair stylist did cut off more length than what I indicated. I'm not too upset though because my hair grows back fast, and I can work with the cut I got. Next time, though, I'll be going back to the Chinatown location.
