WM - East Side Transfer Station

WM is an excellent service. They are always on time and when they can't be, they communicate that news proactively. All delays we experienced were holiday or weather related, which is 100% expected. I gave them 4 stars because they have reduced the recycle service to biweekly. The recycle service was weekly before.

The storm led to a postponement of our Thursday pickup. No problem. The WM e-mail said pick up would then be on Friday. Again, no problem. I had our receptacles at the street by Thursday night at ten pm. By Friday mid-morning, I was concerned because the Town would be plowing the street and the guy who plows my driveway would need access. By Friday evening, I tried calling, without success, to find out the status of our pick up. I never received notice, e-mail or otherwise, that pick up that week was cancelled and rescheduled for regular pick up this week. Poor communication.

I am pleased with the service in general. The consistency is not there. Sometimes the truck shows at 6:55AM and sometimes it arrives at 1:00PM or past that time for recyclables. 3 recycling days in 6 weeks and my recyclables were never picked up. It is too much recycling material that gets accumulated over two weeks, especially if the truck driver decides not to pick it up on the designated day. I called the office, once they sent a truck later in the week to take care of it and the other times I was told I have to wait for the next day when recyclables are picked up.
