Took a chance on a quick stop through Buffalo to find a barbershop near my hotel, and based on the reviews, I went with Salty Dog Barbershop. I sat in Deion’s chair, and after a quick glance at the pics I brought in, he went to work. I’m a quiet guy, but Deion’s chair-side manner was so personable that I found it challenging not to keep up a conversation. His knowledge on hair and styling was thorough and very helpful for me in terms of how to treat my hair. By the time my cut was over, not only had it felt like I had only been in his chair for all of 15mins, but what I saw in the mirror was an almost identical replica of what I had asked for with an even more expert take. I was blown away. I’m not from Buffalo, but I may just have to utilize my work travel benefits just to drop in solely for a haircut! Out of all the haircuts I’ve received, this has easily been one of- if not the- best haircuts I’ve had in a long time! If you’re considering Salty Dog Barbershop, make no mistake, this is where you need to book your cut!

Rick always does a great job and takes the time to make sure he gets your haircut right. Despite visiting every few months, he always remembers me and the cut that I get. He makes sure that you have a pleasant visit whether it be offering beverages or having a good chat. He also just pushed out his hair product that he uses each time I go in. Bought some and it has been fantastic. Always love to visit The Salty Dog.

Collin is a great stylist. I’ve gotten my haircut at a few places in Buffalo, he is easily the best. Also has knowledge on cutting many different styles. Highly recommend.

I live in New York City and come to Buffalo twice a year to visit family. I have never been able to find a stylist that I liked in Buffalo until I went to The Salty Dog and had Rick cut my hair. He listened to everything that I wanted to do. He was very personable. We had a great conversation. The place is terrific and I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to look great and have a stylist that truly listens to them.

Ive personally been to the salty and had a great experience getting a haircut but my son really loves it. The stylist knew exactly what my son wanted and he was professional and timely. It's a true barbershop furnished with a pool table and drink accommodations, extra bonus. lol making an appointment was super easy using yelp or the web as well. The only thing is if you're not familiar with downtown Buffalo you first visit might take a little to get used to parking, finding it on Main Street etc. but well worth it. All of my colleagues love it as well.
