The surgical staff and nurses on the 3rd and 16th floors were especially praised for their kindness and empathy. While the care is excellent, the ER wait can be very long, with one patient waiting 10 hours before getting a room. It is recommended to be prepared to wait and bring items like a phone, portable charger, and blanket. The valet and front desk staff are also friendly. However, the hospital needs to work on misplacing personal belongings, as one patient was upset about that aspect. Overall, patients highly recommend Buffalo General ER for the best care, despite the long wait times.
8 hours in the er in extreme pain still havent been seen. Night manager/supervisor needs to step up and make sure they got enough people on the shift. Nobody should have to wait in a waiting room for an 8 hour shift.
That dude mohommod came thru with the snack cart, in the emergency room waiting area. Straight up gentleman. He came thru made sure everybody was good and really took his time. He really enjoyed making sure everybody was satisified with snacks; in the long wait. Dude needs a raise.
I took my mom to Buffalo General ER for excruciating unrelenting back and abdomen pain. While the wait was long (10 hours) the care and attitude were unmatched. We have previously been to Mercy, MACC center, and 2 private doctors, where no one listened, cared, or helped in the slightest. 10 hours was a long wait, but after sitting day in and day out with this pain for weeks, the 10 hours was a small price. It was a full waiting room, we got there around 7pm Monday and got a room 4am Tuesday, but everyone along the way was amazing and competent.
