Cannot say enough great things about my experience with this place. We took our 13.5 year old dog Bandit, who's always scared and sometimes scary in turn, in to have a tooth abscess treated that led to surgery. From the second we walked in for the initial appointment and all the way through the procedure and even navigating payment - everyone we met and dealt with were nothing but caring, helpful, and wonderful. Especially because of the specifics regarding my very particular and moody dog, it means so much to me to have found a trustworthy vet in NYC. Can’t recommend or thank them enough! We went to the Flatbush Ave location.

I’ve been bringing my baby girl Elzy here since she was 15 weeks old. She runs anxious and they are absolutely amazing with her! She loves (as much as anyone loves going to the doctors) her visits, especially her peanut butter treats. The staff was so accommodating and helpful to Elzy, me and my wife when we learned Elzy accidentally ate something she shouldn’t have. They took great care of her, even calling to follow up the next day. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We brought our Cat in for a standard teeth cleaning, which we had done with our cat plenty of times before. Whatever they administered caused our cat's esophagus to close up, (also when brought for teeth removal later, there was evidence that no teeth cleaning was ever done. Leading us to believe they messed up his chart with another cat). We rushed him back to this vet IMMEDIATELY explaining that he was having a bad reaction and would not eat, they made me wait in their waiting room until they started closing the windows and I was the last person there (2 hours). Then said they forgot about me. They then said that this was our own cat's fault for an undisclosed previous condition and that we should rush him to Blue Pearl. No such condition has been reported before or since. At the time we had no insurance and we were out $5K for something they did to our cat. Basically they committed malpractice and passed him to another hospital to deal with. Thankfully we have since brought our cat to other more experienced and careful vets in the neighborhood. Also we now have pet insurance which is not cheap but we were scarred from this place.
Avoid at all costs.

This review is solely for the manager Lissette. She is truly a kind person and went above and beyond for me while I had an all out temper tantrum. I could elaborate more but I would like HER review to stand on its own. Thank you Lissette. I will be able to catch my flight with ease.

I didn’t visit for a serious issue — my rabbit just had watery eyes — but the doctors were very professional and attentive. They also trimmed my rabbit’s nails very quickly, which I really appreciated, since he’s not very used to being handled and it’s difficult for me to do it myself. The prices are good, and everyone was kind and caring. I hope we won’t have any problems in the future, but if we do, I’ll definitely come back here!

Incredibly personable, easy to work with schedules, and very friendly vets and technicians.

Pricing is also unfriendly fair given the quality and city.

Good doctors but has become prohibitively expensive.

I have been a client at Prospect Heights Medical for the last seven years. Over that time, I’ve built a relationship with the team and come to rely on them for my care. So when I recently had a difficult experience that left me feeling unheard and frustrated, it was especially disappointing. It hurt enough that I chose to withdraw my services—something I never imagined doing after so many years of trust.

But then Amanda, the office manager, personally reached out. She didn’t offer excuses. She took full accountability, clearly explained what went wrong, and shared the steps they had taken to address it. Her sincerity and willingness to make things right meant a lot to me. Josh was also incredibly helpful—patient, kind, and solution-oriented. Together, they reminded me what it feels like to be truly cared for.

At the time, I was preparing to transfer to another location—only to find out it was also under the Prospect Heights umbrella. It gave me a moment to pause and reflect. I realized that while I had every right to feel disappointed, I could have also shown a little more empathy. We’re all human, and growth often comes through these hard conversations.

Because Amanda and Josh took real ownership and showed genuine care, I decided to return. And I’m so glad I did. Since coming back, the care has been excellent—just like it was in the beginning. This experience has reminded me how powerful accountability, compassion, and open.

Every experience I’ve had here is positive. Easy scheduling, efficient front desk, and caring vets and techs. You do get a different vet most times, but it’s never affected our care. Highly recommend, and my elderly cat likes it too.
