I've recently started going to New Natural Hair Salon because my stylist Evon works there now. She has been doing my hair for more than 10 years, and I would follow her to the end of the earth. She has done my hair from every length imginable from down my mid back, to a bob just above my shoulders; through blunt bangs, curtain bangs; straight cut, layers; body waves; and almost every shade of brown (even red once!) After years of having virgin hair, I took the plunge to color it again, and Evon was respectful of the fact that I did not want to use bleach and brought my vision to life in a healthier way.
That being said, New Natural has been one of the cleanest and nicest salons I've followed her to. The space is open and kept neat. It does not feel cramped or as opposing as most salons along Avenue U tend to feel. The other staff are very nice and seem to interact well with their customers. With all the options available in the neighborhood, you know a place is good when they have a lot of regulars. Even though I want to gatekeep and keep both the salon and Evon to myself, they deserve the recognition!

Evon did both my hair & my mom’s!! We go to her each time we want our hair done and she is always able to give us what we want, she is so sweet & even gave us a free hair product for Christmas. The other employees are also very welcoming!

They don’t even know how to curl hair . Really upset. Never come back. Wasted my 20$ for nothing. They don’t even know how to get a proper blow dry.

My husband and I go here for years now. The owner is nice and the hairdresser is very good. He takes his time to cut our hairs. They also have a good massage when you wash your hair. What i like the place, they dont rush and very nice people. Also, they don't beg for tips.

Unclean. I came here for a haircut a while back (I had come here before), I saw that the stylist (had not cut my hair before) just cut some sweaty person. I asked the hair person to disinfect the scissors he was about to use on me, (simply just dip it in that disinfectant container for hair tools I see right behind him). He said no and said you know what? I'm busy now. There was no one waiting. The owner of the salon just stared. Guy missed out on an easy short haircut and $5 tip.
