I saw Dr. Kowalska for the first time when I was experiencing eye pain and some vision obstruction in the right eye. She suspected a serious condition and sent me to Mount Sinai where I was admitted and given an MRI which confirmed it was a serious problem. I could have permanently lost my vision without her diligence. After I was discharged from Mount Sinai they messed up my referral. Dr. Kowalska called me to see how I was doing (unprompted) and then worked tirelessly to make sure I had a follow up with a optó-neurologist before my medication ran out.
