I had to make my way after many years not coming here because I moved upstate, it was a must that I get my hair done with Darlene for my 40th bday, I love that I even share the same birthday as her APRIL 17TH. This was such an Amazing salon, i love the location and this place feels very cosy... They are very busy and im sure very well known in the neighborhood, so she must be doing something right...I was more than happy with my end result my hair was curled, shiny and trimmed. Just what I needed. Darlene is Verry talented and has such a personable character she will never disappoint... Highly recomand this place and the team!

all the talent in the world doesn't matter if you literally mock new clients hair (really happened as I walked in) and make the salon unwelcoming. They also price gouge like crazy once you're in the chair

I was hoping this would be a salon I could go to because I will say this, the location is not too far and she is actually good at doing hair. I got a silk press and it came out pretty good. I will never downgrade someone's talent especially if they are good (That's the +2 stars).Entering her establishment, its beautiful and organized. Her greeting not really, she looks at you like "what do you want" or "what are doing here"? (That's the -1 star). She did it another person that walked in later and then realized it was a client from the past that returned and her attitude abruptly changed.Now granted I have been rescheduling appointments because of work and the most recent was a virtual event for a passing of a friend's family that was being rescheduled (I have rescheduled 2 times). However, I am a woman that respects people's times and business therefore I have rescheduled those appointments IN ADVANCE! Never have I rescheduled within 24-48 hours. In fact, I rescheduled 4-6 days prior, yes I have proof. She did not have the respect or professionalism to send me the email IN ADVANCE which she sent at 3:09 PM for 10:00 AM appt the next day. Her "so-called" reasoning was that I disabled auto payments (which is not true as I have multiple emails from Styleseats after I scheduled my stating "You will pay and tip through your phone" and "Your card on file will be charged automatically after the appointment" and yes they were attached to her appointments. Also, she is not the only person I schedule appointments with on Styleseat and I always get charged after the appointment electronically. And this reasoning should be null and void as she took a cash payment from me of $40.00 after she clipped my ends. Her other reasoning was my booking history (which was only 2 times) therefore she "blocked" me from scheduling with her establishment in the future. I guess that made her feel high and mighty. (This is the -2 star). AND YES I HAVE EXPERIENCED BETTER!After speaking with two friends that actually have businesses and they both agree that she probably had a friend who wanted that appointment time so she voided my appointment and turned it on me as to why she could not accommodate. They have actually heard of other businesses doing this which is pathetic and immature. I probably would have respected her more had she simply told me that she could not accommodate for that time and I had the opportunity to reschedule.
