I absolutely loved my experience with Kalela. This was the first appointment I’ve ever had where a stylist explained everything she did and the reason why behind it. It was a really educational appointment. I got to learn proper ways of washing my hair and the best tools to utilize at home. My twists were so hydrated and beautiful.

So far, my very favorite stylist! She is always helpful with tips and talks me through my loc journey. Mind you, two sessions but I like her styles. She always makes me feel completely in control, the salon is nice and private. Not messy or uncomfortable at all.
And she does a good job. I always love to ask her questions about how things I wanna try in the future. Honestly the only thing I can think of is that I can’t get her phone number to send her hair inspo that I look at from Pinterest.
But she’s very professional, very comforting. When others come in for their appointments she’s never rude or telling them anything crazy.... read full review

I finally went in for a haircut. I was nervous as I have never had anyone else in my hair to cut it or wash it since going natural almost 8 years ago. Kalela, as personable and kind as she is, reassured me that my hair would come out beautiful. I have never dyed nor used heat in my hair so it did surprise me that she blow-dried it (I thought she would cut curl-by-curl), but I trusted the method which worked out as I saw my hair come back to life and be shaped the way I've wanted for so long.I would love to go back to shape my hair every now and again.
