I had a 3:00 PM appointment for a haircut and arrived early at 2:40. The stylist had me wash my hair right away, then left me sitting there while she finished up with another customer — no explanation, no heads-up. After waiting even longer, I was told another person would be taken before me because she had been there for hours getting her hair colored and now needed a cut. Excuse me? That’s not my problem. If you knew someone had a lengthy color and cut booked, don’t schedule me at 3:00 PM. That’s called poor time management — or worse, being money-hungry and overbooking.
When she finally got to me, my hair was still wet, and she actually reached for a flat iron. I had to stop her and say, “You do not flat iron wet hair — that causes damage.” At that point, I said we’re done. I paid her, told her I wouldn’t be back, and all she said was “Sorry.” No accountability, no real apology.
Absolutely unacceptable. I will never return, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values their time — or their hair.

Second time getting my hair done here and absolutely love my experience and results every time ! I got full highlights but really wanted to avoid them being blonde so I went with a more copper/red looking tone and I couldn’t be happier !! 4.5 hours and the price is well-worth the results ❤️❤️

If you have curly hair, or better yet, if your hair is NOT pin straight, don’t come here. I’ve never had such a weird and off putting salon experience until I came here. I made the appointment for a scalp treatment and cut/style, the lady who washed my hair and did the treatment was excellent. The lady who cut and styled my hair was not. She started off by making comments that my hair was “very curly” and “very frizzy” as I was getting the scalp treatment done. She then asked me multiple times if I like my hair that way and kept repeating how my hair was frizzy. As she’s cutting my hair, she was being very rough and seemed like she was rushing. As she’s blowing it out, she proceeded to yank my hair several times and continued being rough with it. My hair was left pretty much half done, as it was left puffy and she put NO effort into smoothing it out, as normal hair stylists have done in the past. She even asked me if I wanted to permanently smooth my hair because “it would be much better”. She clearly has no knowledge on how to work with curly hair and made ME feel like I was the problem. Even kept repeating how frizzy my hair naturally is and how the weather makes it worse, which made no sense since I just got my hair done and it shouldn’t look like I was outside in the rain. So yeah, definitely not coming back.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would , they do NOT know how to work on curly hair first the lady had a very snarky attitude with me over MY OWN hair . I called and asked for a normal blow out not even to wash the hair just blow it out and straighten it I asked if they know how to do curly hair they said yes ( I have SOFT 3b curls ) very easy to straighten . When I sat in the chair the stylist looked confused with my hair and proceeded to rake the blower through my curls , no brush just raking my hair out . And the lady was planning to ONLY flat iron my whole entire head . Extremely unprofessional and wrong technique, she would’ve burned and damaged my curl pattern when someone asks for a blowout you use a roller brush and hair blower lady said my hair texture was “ difficult to work with” and would only “ stay straight “ with just a flat iron . I got up and didn’t waste anymore time on this place . They DO NOT know anything about working with curly hair and if I would’ve continued to sit there they would’ve damaged my hair . Disappointed and wasted my time . Also to the owner , stop calling curly hair “ difficult to work with “ it’s 2025 and a simple blowout is not hard to do on basic curly hair horrible salon women of color DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE !!!

Helen is honestly one of the best barbers you can get around for the price she sets. Their haircuts are always good quality and she knows how to cut all of the freshest men hairstyles which is definitely not common around Brooklyn.

Helen is super friendly and knowledgeable! I got my hair permed and cleaned up two months later (pictures below) and both the perm and the clean up were fantastic. The perm came out exactly how I wanted based on the reference pictures I presented. When my hair got too long and bulky, I came in for a cleanup and Helen knew exactly what to do! She perfectly kept the texture while removing a lot of excess weight and reframing the hair shape to fit my head. Would 100% recommend to a friend.
