The entire team at Bolo was professional and friendly from the start all the way through the end of the job. They were on time and responsible every day and worked on my floor as if it was their own. They paid attention to every detail and the end result is beautiful.

We moved from NY to NJ and miss NY terribly. Things just seemed to work better and quicker in NY than in NJ. We had a terrible experience trying to find a contractor to repair our floor and closets as well as to install towel racks and shelves. Every time we called contractors in NJ, either they didn't answer the phone or they did not show up after agreeing to do the work. They never called to say why they weren't showing up either. I called repeatedly. One guy had excuse after excuse...It was covid time. One of his guys had covid. He was busy with other jobs. He would call next week. Then the week after. But he never did. Another guy even gave us a contract to sign and asked for a deposit. Yet, when he said he would show up, he didn't. He never called either to give an explanation. When I called he said he was on the road and could I call back later. This happened 5 times. Another time, he assured us he was coming. Then I called an hour after the time he was to come and he said he was stuck in traffic. I asked him to text if he would be late and say when he would be coming. He never did. I called again and he said he wasn't coming. He unapologetically said, "Well. You know. Things happen!". I asked him to give me my deposit back since it was too stressful for me to deal with him and, Thank God, he finally did. I gave up on the list of contractors recommended by our coop building. Then, I decided to look for a contractor on Yelp. Most contractors I contacted were based in NY said they could not come to NJ. Others asked us to send photos and videos of the work we wanted to have done before they would commit. The only contractor who seemed serious was Bolo Cleaning. Lawrence said to call his office and reserve a free estimate and his office scheduled a visit to our home for the free estimate. I was doubtful that anyone would show up. I was surprised when Lawrence showed up and said he was the owner of Bolo Clean and here to do the estimate. Even more surprising, I found out he was Liberian like my father (For those of you who don't know, our country, Liberia, has gone through many years of war and is slowly trying to recover. I have not seen too many Liberians and was definitely surprised that a Liberian would show up to give me an estimate on work to be done in our home.) We went through the hassle of getting my coop building's management to approve the scope of work and he had to revise it several times to meet the management's requirements before we finally got approval to proceed. His team - Eric, Lennon, Jefferson and Oscar - is very good. They are working on sanding, staining and refinishing our floor and fixing closets that were coming unhinged. They also installed shower shelves, towel racks and bathroom shelves we had purchased earlier. They are polite and friendly guys. I will update this review, if needed, when they have completed the work on our apartment.

After meeting with several renovation companies, we chose to work with Lawrence and his company, Bolo Clean. Lawrence presented the most cost-efficient option for our kitchen renovation in the Upper West Side in NYC. He is also deeply knowledgeable in the field. Lawrence met with us at our house to discuss the renovation project multiple times. Lawrence was always willing to give us his opinion regarding colors, appliances hardware, etc. and guide us throughout the process. Lawrence is a straightforward person, who always gives an honest opinion. As with any major renovations there were minor issues that were quickly corrected. The finished product looked incredible and I highly recommend Bolo Clean.

Bolo Renovations did a great job painting my large apartment. They were meticulous and knowledgable. Lawrence is lovely to work with, and his painters were also very courteous and responsive. They finished the job on time, respected the building rules, and left the place spic and span. With so many unreliable contractors in NYC, I was blown away with the level of service and care from Bolo. They came in to resurface and repaint my bathroom after I had made a complete mess of things. They are not the cheapest bid you will get but far and away the highest quality. All their people were knowledgeable, kind, and respectful of the space (tough to manage with a very small bathroom!). Start to finish (they even handle the post-work clean!!), every link in the chain is top notch. Even when there was a (genuinely honest) misunderstanding about the invoice it was handled promptly and equitably. Could not recommend them more highly.
