Great shop, it's simple, no extra frills but they do clean work, quick service, patient with children and have a decent selection of hair. The prices are also reasonable. I think it's one of the few original braiding shops left in NY and worth visiting!

Awa braided my 8 year old daughter’s hair the exact way I wanted without blow drying. Clean Peaceful atmosphere! Thank You Uptown Star great job 🙌🏽🙌🏽♥️♥️👍🏽👍🏽🤗🤗

I came in with a picture of a desired look and they over achieved ! I wanted knee-length small knotless box braids ! I thought it would’ve taken me a day and a half . The stylists took 5 1/2 hours! I’m so in love with my hair and I will definitely be returning ❤️
