The braids were extremely tight, got sores in my head. This is a place i have been going to for years, so i was disappointed. The young woman seemed angry that I was getting cornrows and not knot less braids which the new trend. The others complain about cornrows and crochet braids how they dont like to do it. Young braiders who only wants to do trend hairstyles at an expensive price. So they not treat you well.
Be careful who you go to in there. So my problem is with someone who’s clearly a newer braided she’s light skin and works in the back last chair. She didn’t do my hair how I wanted and had issues grasping the hair towards the center of my head. At some point she must’ve cut my scalp with her fingernails and I got an infection. Her hands must’ve been dirty. It’s been 5 days now with me getting small bald spots and hair thinning at the roots. I had to get a prescription. I can’t even take out the braids yet bc it’s the best way to apply it… I used to come here years ago and they’re were never really clean but I put that aside cause most African shops...read full review
I've been to this place several times. Visually it is lackluster and could use a ton of TLC. Fatima is very pleasant and braids quickly but will often have someone else (less experienced) to finish. Space is limited and very crowded. I think they over charge and there is very little wiggle room with price negotiating even when bringing your own hair. Often times if you arrive early they'll tell you another braider is in route which in turn requires the patron to wait. There is a lack of professionalism amongst all employed.
