Piper was so lovely for my haircut with full color! They explained each step and answered any questions and concerns I had. They also put in the extra time and effort to troubleshoot while dyeing my hair so that the final result gave the full effect I envisioned. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

I have curly hair and havent felt comfortable getting my haircut by other people, but this completely changed that. I felt like I was included in the process, it was super quick, and I love the results!!

kayla is absolutely amazing, i found her on instagram when looking for a new stylist who specializes in curly cuts and found her. im so glad i did! i have never gotten more compliments on my hair and am so happy to have found a new salon and stylist i can depend on!! the salon is beautiful and clean , go here!!

Extremely disappointing.
I used to get a great cut and color from Kayla but my last service was not up to the standards I had come to expect from the Alchemists. She was very distracted and inattentive, seemed more concerned with salon drama than my hair, and admitted to forgetting about the cut and color placement we had agreed on in my consult AFTER the foils had come out, so I had to sit even longer for more lightener and then it did not process enough to actually do the color I wanted. So I left with a different cut and color than I had asked for, and paid significantly more than I used to at this salon ($395 with tip). I tried to be happy with it because I hate complaining or causing problems, but it made me feel awful. Kayla hyped up this color brand for the entire consult and service as extremely long lasting, so I was excited for that, but it washed out immediately in freezing cold water with Amika shampoo for color treated hair. I have had pastels last longer. I reached out to Kayla about my concerns with the longevity and she took several weeks to respond, and just asked me what shampoo I use. I repeated that I use the Amika I told her about in my consultation, on my consult form, and again in person during the service. She never responded. I feel like I've been scammed. I no longer reccommend The Alchemists to anyone.

Sydnee did an amazing job with my haircut! I have naturally fine and thin hair that is hard to cut a style into without looking more thin. This is by far the best cut I have received since moving to the Capital District over 6 years ago!

I absolutely love this salon. They are vocally and thoughtfully LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent friendly. Hannah has been my hairdresser for years now and there’s no one else I would trust with my hair. When I decided I wanted a shag, Hannah gave me a gorgeous shag. When I decided I wanted bangs, Hannah gave me killer bangs. I came to Hannah with my hair poorly home-dyed, and she was never judgmental and never pushed me to have her color it. After a couple years I decided to seek her help for color correction and she spent hours with me to give me the color I’d been wishing for. Hannah is reliable, extremely capable, and is always honest and straightforward with me. She’s also really smart and can tell you all sorts of cool facts if you ever don’t know what to talk about. I cannot recommend her, and this salon highly enough.
