About Happy Tails Dog Training and More

Happy Tails Dog Training and More is a highly regarded dog training business known for their caring and effective approach. They offer various programs, including a puppy 101 program and a 2-week board and train program, which have shown big progress in dogs’ manners and listening skills. I have known Henri for many years. We recently attended her competitive obedience weekend workshops which are great fun and have rekindled my love for competitive obedience training. They have also inspired my children to have a go. The workshops are fun , relaxed with a good mixture of dog's working together and individually.

Hamish and I have been coming to dog training classes for a while and recently completed a canine first aid course with Henri too. The sessions are relaxed but structured, fun to take part in, and she teaches you skills needed in real life situations with examples from her own training and life with her dogs. We'd covered a bit of cooperative care and vet trips in regular class but I decided I wanted to know more so attended one of her first aid classes. Just three weeks after completing the course, I found I needed to use a lot of the skills Henri had taught me when my (very daft!) dog ran full speed into a gate when playing in the park. Instead of panicking, I was able to do some observations for neurological injury and check the cut on his face there and then, before muzzling him and getting him to the vet. Hamish isn't a fan of the muzzle, but because we'd practised muzzle training in a positive way in dog class when he wasn't injured, it was a lot less scary for him (and me!) I'm really glad I had first aid and general training skills under my belt and was able to channel Henri and her advice in a stressful situation. Highly recommended!
