“Shades of Gray is a step above most tattoo studios and a big reason has to do with the staff, particularly Aly. My wife had been wanting to get a tattoo for a long time, but was nervous and not sure where to go, who to trust, and all the important stuff you need to cover when you are getting your initial ink done. Luckily, Aly was a friend who made us feel like family. Not only was she a pro with design and implementation, but so kind, calming, and professional all at the same time. Her chair in the back of Shades of Gray was perfectly set up to put us a ease. Plus, I got a free cup of coffee while my wife got a tattoo (not the biggest thing to highlight, but still, I loved it). Excellent music choices, clean tools and environment, and a crew that could not be more supportive. Aly, we will forever be grateful to you for making the two socks tattoo a dream come true. “I have been here about three times now and love every tattoo I have gotten! So far, most of my tattoos have been done by Delaney (Teaspoons) and look amazing. Delaney provided quality care and ensured I got what I asked for. Most of my tattoos from her have been from her flash sheet so they were all pre drawn up and quick to apply. I got one custom tattoo from her which is the Koala tattoo I attached in the photos. She sent me different drawings and to see what exactly I was looking for. We agreed on a final drawing and she applied it beautifully! (One of my favorite tattoos!) She also makes sure I am doing well and stops when I need a break. Would recommend 10/10 The other artist in the shop are also friendly to walk ins and clients being serviced. Creates a welcoming atmosphere!“

“I've gotten one tattoo here & my husband has also gotten a tattoo here. My husband is also getting a custom half-sleeve done by King currently. It's a tradition Filipino tribal tattoo with some old Filipino writing on it. King is so amazing and patient while tattooing. He makes the room feel very comfortable. I've brought our kids here before to visit my husband while he was getting a tattoo. The entire shop is so kind. They offered candy, juices, fake tattoos, little toys, etc. The owner even once offered soup. (I believe the shop does charity work feeding the homeless once a week, which is awesome!)“

“I found Dan’s portfolio online a couple of years ago and decided to trust my gut. I got a piece I was extremely happy with, and I ended up going back for a full sleeve. Dan’s talent, precision, and technique are unreal. He’s patient, gives awesome suggestions, and makes you feel confident in what you’re getting. On top of that, he’s knowledgeable and just easy to talk to, which makes the hours in the chair fly by. Plus, he’s got such a light hand that the pain is minimal. Also, big shoutout to his wife, Catherine, who handles all the scheduling. She’s quick to reply, gets everything set up fast, and makes the whole process smooth and easy. I’ve always had great communication with both of them and have been treated with respect every single time. Couldn’t recommend them more!“

“I had a 4pm appointment with Joe for a design from a book series. He was ready when I arrived at my appointment time. He was extremely thorough and made sure to have me look at font options, size, and placement of my design until I was 100% satisfied.

I explained that I have a dysautonomic disorder that causes me to faint easily, so he made sure I was able to lay down and keep my feet elevated to avoid my blood pressure dropping. He turned on a movie and music for entertainment while he worked on my arm.

My husband and son were getting hungry, and he referred them to the taco place across the street. He checked in on me frequently, and when I said I needed to eat, we took a break and I grabbed some tacos.

He carefully monitored my fainting condition and made sure I didn't get up too quickly and stayed hydrated.

Through no fault of his, I did end up passing out during the cleanup process; but Joe was quick to respond and offered me water, some sugar to bring my glucose levels up and a garbage can in case I puked.

The shop is clean, sanitary, well lit, and easy to find. I did book my appointment a month in advance, but there were other artists who were in the shop who could have taken walk- ins.

When my appointment was finished, my husband's turn came. He also wanted work from a book series, and was extremely happy with his experience as well.“
