“This was my first spa experience ever. 46 years old, never been to a spa before. From the first timers perspective. This was an enjoyable experience. There is unfamiliarity so I don't know if it's exponentially better, but this first time event was very enjoyable. The service requested was the couples hot stone massage. The website on an iOS was not user friendly and became frustrating to try to book the service. A phone call did the trick. Showing up we were greeted well, filled out the necessary paperwork and were led away to change for our comfort. I'm not a photojournalist nor did I feel it was appropriate to pic flick away in a place where people are trying to escape and relax. But, I got one, and the waiting area was clean, relaxing sand comfortable. Hands down the massage was great (see what I did there ), the masseuses were professional, quiet and thorough. The quiet was the best part. That's the part of this experience I enjoyed the most. Even in the middle of downtown Reno, it was quiet, had a pleasant aroma, and just felt insulated. The experience was worth it, enjoyable, and while I will try Refuge again one day and would recommend them, I can't wait to try the other spas in our area. Thank you Refuge Spa“

“Stopped here on my way to Burning Man and they were the nicest. Asked for a pedicure and nails that would last. Showed a picture of the sunset nails I wanted and they did it perfectly. Got offered a glow in the dark finish too. Highly recommend!“

“I had a great experience. I do not like going to get my hair cut, I'm very indecisive, I don't care to hold conversation, I don't care to be touched, I never do anything with my hair anyway.
However, I called to check their hours, which they vary with technicians availability (ballpark usual business hours like 9-5). Maria texted me (they asked if text was ok since I was about to be at work and not able to answer calls) I had limited availability and she was able to take me in the very next morning (which I appreciated as I likely would have just postponed for another year). She was finished in the time frame I had available - and even styled my hair! (She asked if it was okay first) I've never had curls before and I'll say it was a pleasant experience! Opened up my eyes to more styling possibilities.
She mentioned some products used but didn't push any sales at the end (which for me was perfect, the haircut alone is overwhelming && I don't want to hear about confusing products for more money yet)

I definitely plan on visiting again! I won't wait a couple years for a cut this time ☺️“

“A warm and welcoming, relaxed, feels-like-home salon. PHS destroys the current corporate and clinical approach of supposedly modern beauty salons, which these days lack that personal connection with their clients. Kate and Barbara have truly achieved a fantastic vibe. Heather was my assigned artist. And she is awesome. Open, friendly, fun, and absolutely invested in what it was I was after for my mop of thinning hair. Constant conversation during the cut regarding the layering, feathering, length, "clunkiness," and overall feel of her work. I am a fussy, pain-in-the-derriere type of client. Not today. I enjoyed my entire experience so much, not only will I be back, but I booked my wife in with Heather for next week. Thats "two snaps up (in a Z formation)" from me !“

“Very happy with my experience. One of the more affordable salons in Sparks however that doesn’t mean they aren’t even better than those expensive places. I scheduled my appointment only a day in advance but when I got there my stylist got me in right away, she was very friendly and it was an inviting place. I got my hair cut by Bertha and she did a fantastic job. I showed her a couple reference photos and she completely nailed the vibe I was going for. Got an amazing hair cut, she washed it and styled it for only 45$!! “Came here for my nails the day before my wedding. Monique is amazing!!! She was incredibly patient with my indecisiveness and was so attentive to detail. Absolutely recommend blush & bone. 10/10 all around service and simply love that they focus on nontoxic products. I will be back! Thank you!!! As a sidenote - I have seen some people post about "hidden fees" for gel removal. From my experience in many different cities, that is the industry standard, and they honestly give a good price for it.“
