I came to Okina salon at the recommendation of my friend Gina whose hair is always on point. I was extremely nervous as I've never felt good about a haircut so I've been growing my hair out for a long time. For context I always ask for a trim to preserve my length and I always leave mourning how much hair I lost and often I get layers added in when I don't want them. Ashley was very understanding and attentive to my concerns. I didn't know what I wanted exactly so she helped walk me through some options and we talked about how I typically wear my hair to make sure the cut would fit in with that. Okina Salon gets 5 stars for a reason! I grew up getting my hair cut by my mom so going to hair salons as an adult is sort of like pulling teeth for me. But I tried this salon because I wanted to really transform my hair (cut and fashion color) and I wasn't really happy with experiences I've had with other salons in the area. Ashley was extremely helpful and thorough the moment I booked the appointment, making sure to reach out beforehand and ask about my vision for the fashion color so she could make sure she had the right products.
