At the time of my visit, unfortunately, there were no exhibitions on a topic that appealed to me. The works of Charlotte Butler Skinner (1879-1963), an American painter who loved the nature and land of the Nevada region, stood out. It felt like the effort of driving 7 hours round trip across the snow-capped mountains to visit was rewarded.Don't forget to appreciate the surrounding mountains of Reno seen from the museum's rooftop.
Came to enjoy Second Saturday with the addition of crafts, story time, and The Reno Philharmonic; along with the beautiful and thought provoking galleries. All museum staff are knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. The cafe has delicious and welcoming snacks and beverages. The shop always has enticing trinkets.
The Nevada Museum of Art is a wonderful delight for all ages! The staff are welcoming, kind and helpful with navigating around the Museum. The security staff are vigilant, yet kind, and pleasantly informative about the galleries.Budget-friendly once a month(for families who may need it) as they have free admission for all, PLUS amazing crafts for kids to do! We attended the glass painting, and weaving recently, and will definitely be back! =)My one & only complaint is their parking lot is quite small, other than that, 5 stars!
