We were going here for years! But slowly they declined! Staff wasn’t friendly very rude! And all they wanted to do is do surgery that was unnecessary! And it was the same surgery 4 times and charged every time! I think k they are run by a corporation now so that’s why it went down hill! Needless to say I switched vets! And have saved a whole lot of money!

Do not go to this clinic. doctor sevice has declined. Previously, my doctor Aijah Bradford was stellar! She explained well what her findings were and what we need to do. She was re-assuring and really cared. Though she was busy, she gave a callback right away when she got the results of my pets blood work despite being busy. This was consistent as I had her look at my pets several times. Fairly recently, I had to bring my pet to be seen. We got a doctor named Dr Kempz and really was talking in circles what he think it was. Never really explained well (basically blabbing away) and pushed to get bloodwork done to assess and results will be available after 2 days. Never called within 2 days, texted them to remind them and then, let his staff call to give results and guess what, my dogs still sick and didn't give any instructions or guidance on what needs to be done next. Just said bloodwork is normal. So in my mind what about my dog as he clearly is not normal and still sick!! Such a really shitty experience with Dr Kempz!!! I had to acquire the bloodwork test and I went to see my 24/7 Vet virtual Helpline through my pet insurance [Nationwide Pet Ins- ty). I got more care and better explanation on how to take care of my dog than the doctor assigned to us in this clinic. Front desk Staff were nice and caring at least. Dr Kempz should train under his staff and learn tons of things from them.

We had been using another vet but they had become difficult to book. We took in our dogs for teeth cleaning and their annual check up and was very pleased with their services. They are easy to book, friendly and caring to work with, and did quality work in a clean professional office. I give them my recommendation!

Two stars, because they did treat my baby girl but the amount of confusion and misinformation left me exasperated. I brought my Chihuahua in to be seen due to labored breathing, lack of apetite, and lethargy. After the first visit, I was told that they needed to do either an X-ray, bloodwork, or both to know what's wrong. My dog's heart had been racing, we knew that she had a grade three heart murmur from a prior visit about 3 years earlier, but still they didn't tell us anything. I had to choose which diagnostic to do and they suggested the X-ray would tell them more because of her heart. I took into consideration that doing all the tests would run me way over financially and I knew that the test itself would only diagnose the issue, so there was also the treatment to think about. The staff told me that the X-ray results would be ready in 2 to 4 hours, but told me they'd call me the next day. At the front desk however, they also told me that "I" should call them for the results in the morning. The visit was about $430, and again, I had not much information to go by. I did what I could while watching my baby having a hard time breathing. The next day I called at 8:30am to be told, "we have the results here, we'll have the doctor take a look and call you back." I waited. I called again at 1:30pm and was told, "oh yes, we still havent heard from the doctor and we're a little busy, but he will definitely call you back." I knew that they close at 5pm, so by 4:50pm I called a 3rd time as I had not heard back and was tols "oh the doctor is in surgery, but we did send him the results and he should get back to you." When I asked if he could answer me after hours or something, they said "No it would be TOMORROW." I had taken the time that day, to get help as quickly as possible. I expected them to live up to what they said especially after paying for the services. I decided the next day that I was going in person as soon as they opened. Once I was in and I got a room, I FINALLY got to see the doctor and he gave the diagnosis of CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) and from what the he told me, it was quite bad on the left side. I was distraught and asked what they would do to help. He didnt even have a treatment plan ready & had to ask him how to proceed from that point. It almost felt like he wanted me to go the route of euthanasia. He's the doctor right? I was given a print out of the treatment procedure but it was not explained thoroughly-- what I understood was having to bring my dog in for fluid removal and sedation, and an IV, and this and that along with meds. The thought of all this seemed terrible and of course I considered the hardship of having to do this over and over, especially being sedated. I just couldnt do it to my dog. I was all but prepared to call a service to come to my home and do what I thought needed to be done. If it wasnt for doing my own research asking several friends and family about the meds and all and then calling the vet again to explain I would have done it. Again, the staff were confusing when explaining the treatment that was needed for my dog-- bloodwork, urine and some pills, thats it. PILLS. I CAN DO PILLS. But to get this information I had to go back and forth between the front staff and speaking to the doctor because CLEARLY nobody was on the same page. Today, I decided to go along with the suggested medication treatment, but the staff didnt even explain to me in detail what to do, what to expect, and follow-up care. It is like pulling teeth to get any kind of information from them. When I asked when to start the meds and which to give her they told me to do all three today, but I had to call because the IV (Lasix) had already been given, so I didnt think another dose was necessary today. I called back to confirm & they made it sound "matter of fact" and that I shouldn't give her the Lasix pill. Then why did a staff member tell me to administer all 3 medications??? I didn't understan

The front desk staff typically look like they don't want to Be there. Not all but most. However the doctors are great. Specifically shout out to Dr. Kempf. He's awesome and knows what's up. They do great work.

We saw Dr. Jones on 5/1/24 because he came recommended. We were there for a euthanasia of my 17.5 year old fur-baby. He lost his brother 2 months earlier from KD, as well. He went downhill quickly; they were the best of pals. They were my travel buddies, and I am so sad. We had scheduled an appt. for 2pm. Turns out the Vet was in surgery until 3:15pm. The hardest wait-time of my life. This is just wrong on every level. I wanted to meet him, so I could decide if I would come back at some point, with my 5 y.o. cat. I asked that the process take place in the "room", and not use a "port" to administer sedation, and final dose. OMG.....my sweet kitty who NEVER hisses (anywhere), and has NEVER made a peep while a Vet drew blood for labs, etc., Screamed a BLOOD-CURDLING SCREAM, while Dr. Jones tried to sedate him!! It was awful (kitty not dehydrated)!! I've been in tears for 3 days, feeling so guilty and devastated at what occurred at West Charleston Animal Hospital. The Phlebotomists at Quest Diagnostics do a much better job. This was done by a DVM!??! Dr. Jones. He could have done an intramuscular shot to sedate, and then go to the vein and kitty feels nothing. NEVER EVER GO THERE! And, they charged me an additional $69 for "EXAM-CONSULT/OFFICE VISIT". Are you kidding me? I am calling tomorrow for a refund....won't happen, but I'm trying! We were there for euthanasia, NOT a "Consult"! When I told his "assistant", beforehand, we were on our 4th Vet here, she asked me, "Then why did you move here"? Since when do you check out the Vets before you move out-of-state? We moved here 3 1/2 years ago! Jeez! What a stupid thing to say. And, so insensitive considering why we were there. My search continues..... Jeri D.

The service is exceptional! My mom is elderly and she takes her dogs here. I usually take her and the dogs for their visits. The care Dr. Owens and Dr. Jones have shown my mom has exceeded all my expectations. Mom had to put down her dog Cora. It was truly heartbreaking The entire staff consoled my mom, it made me cry. Dr. Owens sat with my mom and held her hand when she decided to put her down. He was so compassionate and truly caring. Thank you for caring during our time of loss. We will forever be grateful and take our dogs to West Charleston.

I can start by saying this place is very convenient as in location and destination from me. The staff is BEYOND helpful, informative & patient with your animal and pet. We are constantly always coming back & following all of kimchi's (shiba inu) requirements. I'm greeted with a warm smile & when we are called up and enter the doctor office they are so appreciated & approachable with my pet. kimchi even has built a small relationship with everyone there and doesn't ever shy away or get scared of anyone. The doctor who checks him always so polite, well educated, mannered & very stright forward and honest with any questions or answers you need, all my concerns are always answered and never make me as a owner felt left out or rushed out. I'm can STRONGLY recommend this place and this staff to take care of everyone pet's needs and wants. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome too! 10/10! THANK YOU EVERYONE AT WEST ANIMAL HOSPITAL FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION FOR MY KIMCHI !
