As a patient, it's exhausting trying to get anything done at Southwest Medical. One example: I saw a provider to get a referral to see a specialist. The provider put in a referral request and said someone would call me within 48 hours to schedule it. No one called me, so I called back four days later. I was told there was an issue with the referral, but they fixed it and someone will call me within 48 hours. This procedure repeated itself SIX TIMES over FOUR WEEKS. At a certain point, I realized I was the idiot for believing them when they said "we fixed the problem and someone will call you back".

You might think that in January of 2024, four years after Covid ravaged the country, that it would be easy to get a covid test... especially at a medical facility. I guess I was wrong. Upon arriving at this location three days into being pretty sick, the doctor told me something monumental: I apparently have a virus. Well... thank you very much for that... now how about testing to make sure it is or is not covid? Surely they can do that these days. After all, I can buy a kit at Walmart and find out in fifteen minutes, although there is considerable room for a lay-person to make mistakes that can result in false readings. Had an appointment yesterday. Was greeted by the ladies at the front desk. They were in the middle of a conversation and told me they would be right with me but I stood too close and could hear their conversations so they helped me right away as they didn't want me to hear them gossip. This kind of behavior is normally expected at McDonald's but not in a doctors office. After waiting for over and hour, I was finally seen by the nurse and doctor who had no knowledge of what my appointment was for and kept asking me for clues so they could figure out what to say.
