“My daughter was homeless when she died. The Clark County Coroner sends deceased straight to Davis Funeral Home after the autopsy for storage until family is found and can make whatever arrangements. This was not a problem with me, a funeral home is a funeral home was my opinion. Not anymore. Davis took 5 days to talk to my grandson and begin to make the arrangements, already a long time for those of us who wanted to see her one last time, then they tried to tell my grandson that this would cost $5500 for a simple cremation. They were going to charge us for the transportation from the ME to Davis, the refrigeration, a complete service, stuff we said from the beginning we didn't want. We turned to Inspired Life and they gave us exactly what we wanted, just a simple cremation. We did have to pay extra for the makeup and Davis had taken so long they had to put extremely dark makeup on her just so her daughters could say goodbye.
What Davis did to my family was cruel. We had to wait almost 2 weeks just to see her and I am certain they did that so that we would have no choice but to pay all the extra.
I will use Inspired Life from now on. A death in the family is hard enough without the added pain of a funeral home that refuses to even talk to the family. I don't want to think that my family will go through another death but if it ever happens I will only go to Inspired Life.”
