I am the Chief of the Ship HMCS Sackville, which is Canada's official Naval Memorial. The ship is in a major preservation refit. We contracted MacKinnon and Olding to hydro-blast and grind off old paint, then prime and prepare the bare metal for new paint. Much of the steel is over 80 year old, but their teams have worked hard to ensure everything is well protected. Their professionalism has been a major component of helping to preserve this piece of Canadian history.
