I've had long hair for 18 years and I will admit that I have some identity "wrapped up" in it. I've considered - and then reconsidered - changing the style for several years. I finally decided to do it; I'm on Zoom a lot (I'm an educator) and my long hair appears flat, even when I curl it. I wanted body, I wanted layers.
