This is a true hidden gem of Santa Fe. Olive prepares a fixed menu of lunch items, plant-based and often from local harvests, which not only taste delicious but are artfully plated and you feel great eating them. The atmosphere is cozy and casual - it almost feels like eating a meal in friend's rustic and very generously sized kitchen. She is pretty much always sold out, so reservations are a must.
This is excellent food but just be prepared for a different vibe- it's more like a pop-up art exhibit than a restaurant. You won't know what you're getting till it arrives at the table and none of the dishes or ingredients will be described to you in any way (surprised and a bit dismayed by this; given we were at a nursery where many things may have been grown.) And don't be in a rush- 40 minutes passed between the salad and the actual entrees, with no one checking in on us at any point during the wait. Because of that we didn't stay for dessert but I'm sure it's fine. Cash or Venmo only.
One of my favorite restaurants in SF. The freshest, most creative dishes and combinations of flavors. I can’t wait for it to open. I always feel so good - healthy - after eating there. Olive is charming and welcoming!?
