Sean Hamashige is a fine doctor, but, even as an existing patient and some new problems which I reported to the receptionist, I couldn't get an appt for nearly two months.

Dr Hamashige provided phenomenal service for my dry eye condition. He explained everything very clearly. He also offered very appropriate and beneficial recommendations for complementary care, including acupuncture. I enjoyed his care at his his former practice, and he is an excellent addition to his new practice at Accent Vision. He is scientific, and a great listener. He brings MeiboFlow to the practice, along with his other skills and extensive experience in eye care.

Do not trust this man. He billed my Medicare for a service which was denied which never happened. He claimed that he had to review my record which he did not even have. During his exam, he spoke barely a word and gave zero explanation for anything he did while I was there. For the retina photo consultation, he let me believe that we were looking at a small cataract when this photo is only of the back of the eye (I found out later). He allowed untrained secretaries to operate the testing machines which of course, did not include a word of explanation. (This is not fair to them.) Most of my time there was spent sitting alone in an awful, worn out, empty room. After a brief eye test, he took my old glasses, left the room, then came back, gave them back without one word what he did with them and and why. My entire contact with him couldn't have been more than about four to five minutes total. This happened on November 30, 2018, at the old location off of Old Pecos Trail. But I still have the report from Medicare. This was the worst experience I ever had for an eye exam.

I had a wonderful experience with my eye exam. Was new to Santa Fe and nervous to try a new service. I was treated well and like an individual not a number. I will continue to visit this practice

There's a good reasons why when I last logged onto Yelp to check on Dr. Sean, I found nine glowing, 5 star reviews. Dr. Hamashige is far and away the best optometrist I've ever visited. He immediately put me at ease, his ability to quickly understand and diagnose the subtleties of my vision issues were amazing. His patience in addressing every single question I'd had while visually examining the digital photos of my retinas from the Optos machine, which enabled me to be screened for Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Cataracts and more - without needing to have my eyes dilated! Dr. Hamashige, who as another Yelp reviewer referenced, introduced himself as Sean, is as unpretentious and pragmatic as he is an expert. I recommend Dr. Hamashige without reservation to anyone who cares about their eyes and their vision. And a shoutout to Tabatha who did my preliminary exams prior to Dr. Hamashige's exams. She was very friendly, informative, helpful she did a great job of making it possible for my eyes to relax enough (my left eye was not cooperating) - to get great quality photos/maps of my retinas on the Optos machine. Very happy to have had her help. Finally I found Accent Vision to be a beautiful, comforting environment with lots of natural wood, creature comforts and friendly staff. All highly recommended!

That, she is a wonderful optometrist he is courteous caring kind an excellent technician and most thorough I exam I've had anywhere else and I've been wearing glasses for 50 years I've been seeing him for the last 14 years and can only say how great of experience it's been I recommend them highly being a solo practitioner he knows you he learns from his exams and his recommendations a spot on
