Absolutely awesome place. I've gone a couple of times to get my hair cut now and am always super pleased when I leave. And it's not just the hair cut, it's the place itself, you just feel so welcomed, heard and held. 110% recommend!
I have been seeing Ally at Painted Pony Shoppe since 2022, and I won’t trust anyone else with my hair at this point. She also does the hair of my 6 and 8 year old kids. I love chatting with her, I always feel safe and seen, and she continually honors my requests and does my hair exactly how I asks (working within the confines of my texture and type). Same with my kids—she listens to them and does what they ask and it’s very collaborative and trusting relationship.

I did my reseach on good hair salons before moving to NM and had a feeling this would be the place to go. Ally has done an AMAZING shaggy modern mullet cut for me and I couldn't be happier. The salon is warm, welcoming, she's timely and thoughtful and really listens. She's easy to chat with and I get so many compliments on my cut. It's worth the drive down from SF. Highly recommend!!
