“The curly cut I got with Pahola was probably the best hair cut I got in my life, but the only critique I would have is that their private area for hijabis doesn't feel 100% secure. There were small cracks in the curtains, maybe too small to actually see through but it didn't feel great.“

“Too much of a well-kept secret. This salon is amazing! The owner, Miberly, is outstanding. I dropped by on a Tuesday for a quick consult (walk-in, not an appointment) and she was able to fit me in the following day. Miberly fixed my hair color, adding highlights and lowlights and then gave me a great hair cut. Not only was the price more than reasonable, but Miberly took the time to listen to what I wanted changed and did even more than I asked. Will definitely be going back!“

“This is the best haircut I've ever received. My hair is thick and unruly, I can only style it directly after the shower w/ some sort of holding product. After going to Rob once, my hair looks amazing with and without product in it. I've gone all over Essex, Union, Morris counties as well as downtown Manhattan. “This salon is AMAZING! I visited this salon about a year ago and the owner and stylists were so kind & professional. I haven't been back ONLY because I have been wearing sew-ins and wasn't too comfortable yet wearing my natural hair out on a regular basis. Anyway, the owner was VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE of my hair type and curl pattern. She told me how I cld protect my hair better and what I needed to do to keep it moisturized and growing. “I’ve been getting my hair cut by Mackenzie at Zoku for 10+ years and she is fabulous. Her knowledge of textures and styling techniques is top notch, and whenever I come in she spends a lot of time listening to my hair concerns and figures out a way I can achieve the look I want at home. She never oversells, and only recommends a product if she really likes it.Zoku itself always has professional and friendly staff, the salon is bright and clean, and the product selection is expansive and reasonably priced for the quality. Zoku is on the pricier end for New Jersey, but you get what you pay for.“
