“After living in Hopewell for close to 30 years, my wife and I became keenly aware of the fact that there was extensive exterior repairs required to our home. We recognized the importance of working with a building company that would be able to inspect and diagnose issues related to our cedar shake exterior, trim and fascia, roofing, and painting. After exploring several construction and restoration companies, we decided to go with Baxter Construction given their reputation for top notch, project management and a wide range of expertise in many of the skill sets we would require. We were very impressed with their project management from beginning to end of what turned out to become a 6 month project. In working with Baxter, we were additionally comforted by the dedicated staff carpenters that had been with the company for many years. As the weeks and months progressed, Baxter were able to diagnose problems and perform remediations responsibly. We were kept up to date with frequent progress reports from the project manager, and grew to admire the carpenters who explained the details to us along the way. Given the need for carpentry, roofing and painting, Baxter was able to coordinate the process efficiently. This was a challenge given the numerous Covid related supply chain issues we ware experiencing. “We had an excellent experience with this company . The owner Walt was very responsive and came out very soon after we called him to access the situation . We ended up needing a sump pump and French drain installed , the estimate was very reasonable and the guys started work quickly after we gave them the go ahead to begin work . Dealing with max the project manager throughout the job was a pleasure, he kept in touch throughout the process of getting the job done and was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had . The crew that did the installation were polite , hardworking and meticulous in cleaning up after themselves each day after they were done for the day . After several very heavy rains I’m pleased to say the new sump pump and drain is working great and we are no longer having any water intrusion in our back room. He delivered on all he promised and his team was outstanding---communicative, respectful of me and my home and very professional. I love my new lighter golden oak floor! Brightens up the room so much. TIP for anyone doing this: ask how much it would be for them to tear up your carpet and/or remove all the wood carpet tacks (those strips of wood around the perimeter of your room that the carpet is attached to). Removing the carpet was easy.....trying to get a crowbar/chisel under the carpet tacks was nearly impossible. Jerry did not overcharge and it was well worth it!“
