-I just had the most incredible facial at Spa J. My sister, who basically lives at Spa J, gave me a gift card for my bday and I finally cashed in on it.
I was fortunate enough to be treated by the owner, Julie McColgan.
Julie’s expertise is unmatched—she tailored the entire treatment to my skin’s specific needs and explained everything she was doing. While I’m a bit of a novice to facials, Julie explained what she was doing and told me about my skin health in every step of the process.
All in all, I left Spa J glowing, relaxed, and feeling like I was in the best possible hands. I’ve heard Spa J’s massages and other treatments are equally amazing and I can’t wait to go back for more.“

“I’d heard of Sara’s Skin through the grapevine for a few years but hadn’t had the chance to get in for a service until recently and now I can’t wait to go back. Sara’s space is calm and welcoming and she herself is warm and thorough – taking the time to sit with me before the service to understand my skin concerns and build a facial designed to address them all. The spa bed was heated and comfortable and in no time, I was fully relaxed – so much so that when the service was over, I felt like all my stress had melted away for the hour and I left with the most radiant, hydrated skin. She didn’t try to push crazy expensive products, but made recommendations for routines and solutions to help address the need to hydrate. All in all, a great experience. “Essence Esthetics is one of the best places to go to in the Bronx for pampering and for beauty. The owner is very professional and friendly. The decor is beautiful and the place sets a calm and relaxing setting. They offer facials, manicure and pedicure, lashes, make up etc. The prices are reasonable compared to other places. She also provides her customers with free snacks and drinks. If you are ever in the bronx area or closer to Mt Vernon as this place boarders Mt Vernon please check her out. You won't be disappointed.“

“We have been to parties at this place a couple of times and I finally gave in and hosted my daughter’s 9th birthday party there aftmany years of her asking. I am so thankful to the owner, Yessenia and her stuff. She and her events coordinator Jenna were so patient and accommodating with our booking and changes we kept making to it. They handled 24 girls ages 4-10 so professionally and with ease. Beautiful place, tucked in the corner of the plaza. The birthday girl and the guests were so happy. Fabulous party!! Strongly recommend them“

“I started seeing Betsayda about a year ago because of hormonal acne issues I’ve had my entire adult life. Betsayda has been EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful with giving me tips around my skincare routine in addition to regular, personalized facials that she tailors to my needs. I will say it took a lot of commitment on my end because you don’t see results right away. It took me about 6 months for my skin to turn a corner. I’m now 10 months in, and my skin is almost completely clear. I still get some occasional breakouts, but nothing like what I’ve dealt with in the past.
