Mimi did an AMAZING haircut! I wanted French bangs and layers and her attention to detail was on par with a very seasoned experienced stylist. She cut my hair wet, did an amazing blowout and then went in and cut it dry to adjust to how my hair rests on my face. Highly recommend!!!

I've been coming to Hilights salon (Lyndhurst and Montclair) quite literally for the past decade (since 2015). I am super picky with who touches my hair and I am always happy with the results I get. I get my hair cut by both Tricia and Mimi- I drive 1-2 hours just to come here since I moved and will never go to anyone else. The hair treatments they offer make my hair feel amazing and are so worth it. The stylists here are so skilled and really get to know their clients' preferences to give consistently great service. The rest of the salon staff are also very friendly and accommodating throughout the years I've come here. Really can't say enough good things about this salon!!

The customer service is majorly lacking. I’ve gotten my hair done at this salon twice. The second time I called when making the appointment to confirm that I could use a gift certificate I’d bought at a preschool fundraiser to go towards highlights. I was told yes. Upon arriving, I confirmed again and was told ok. 30 min later, after sitting in the chair and having a full consultation (quoted and initialed that I would be spending double the value of the gift certificate) and bleach mixed - I was told no way, can’t use this gift certificate towards highlights - only a cut. They would not budge. They did not care what I was previously told and even confirmed they’d had issues with communication with the person who answered the phone.
I ended up getting a service I didn’t go in for just because I had the gift certificate and didn’t want it to go to waste. I will not be returning to this salon.
