450 S Fellowship Rd #3, Maple Shade“I signed up for a free class and having no martial arts experience I was nervous, but instantly felt welcomed the moment | arrived. Marco was there to personally greet me, shake my hand and walk me through what the class would look like.
I unfortunately was not able to participate the way l'd hoped (because of my own medical issues with my heart) so I had to stop training shortly into the class. Marco then invited me to sit with him, observe the class and chat with me for the next half hour since I had already drove to the class.
During that half hour he educated me with a wealth of information about his training philosophy. I asked him some questions about martial arts and what I could do to learn some form of self defense that wasn't as cardio intensive. He offered me some alternatives, but told me my time and money would be better spent training myself technique from videos online since I couldn’t participate in a class environment. He was upfront and honest with me which I appreciated.
From my non expert observation, this is the place you want to train. It's not just sport focused, it's HIGHLY self defense focused. You will constantly be training against others gaining skill. And most important you will be taught how to critically think, not just copy moves. This place is the real deal.
Marco is intensely passionate about his craft, and if you train here I’m sure you will become that way too. 2 free classes never hurt anybody! So do it.“

171 Franklin Mills Blvd, Philadelphia“My son started to take karate lessons after Action came and did a demonstration at his summer camp. In just a couple of months, I can see changes in his demeanor and he's coming out of his shell. The instructors are the perfect amount of firm with him while still being caring and I appreciate all of their positive influence in my son's life.“

499 Marlton Pike East, Cherry Hill“My daughter attends karate classes here, and it has been a wonderful experience for her. The instructors are patient and kind when communicating with the kids. If they notice a child struggling, they come over to offer one-on-one guidance. They instill positivity, self-love, and strength, not only in karate but also in other areas of life, encouraging the children to always choose themselves, be honorable, control their emotions, stay focused, and respect their parents. I have seen a tremendous change in my daughter's self-esteem. She truly enjoys karate, even though she is very girly.“

1703 Highland Ave, Cinnaminson“Action Karate Cinnaminson is awesome and a huge family atmosphere. The instructors really care about the kids being the best version of themselves in all aspects, not just karate. They constantly reinforce the importance of listening, doing good in school, self-discipline, respect, overcoming obstacles, and hard work all while teaching them karate in a fun atmosphere and building their self-confidence. They make sure to talk with and help each student individually during every class so no one ever feels left out. The kids have a blast in class and are always making new friends.
I can't recommend this place enough for both kids and adults of all ages. The students from white belts through black belts all support each other and have a great time every class. You get to learn karate and self-defense all while getting in a great workout that relieves the stress of work parenting and everyday life. Everyone leaves every class with a huge smile. They also have tons of cool events and different types of training. We are so happy we decided to check it out and my entire family is enrolled and loving it. If you have any interest or curiosity, check out one class, and you or your child will be hooked immediately.“

917 Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley“I remember coming to a birthday party here about 19 years ago. While Karate and Martial Arts aren't really my thing, Mr. Clark is a true gentleman. I always see him in the Rockledge Parade on Independence Day and he hands out brochures for the studio. I don't know if the studio knows or not, but I stuck around to get video footage of the fireworks on 7/3 because most people weren't patient enough to wait for them. The video is up on my YouTube channel @ih8kone. While my channel is mainly focused on trains and elevators, I do film other things that catch my fancy such as fireworks. And it was a treat coming to see the Rockledge Fireworks from Northeast Philadelphia since they are usually only held every 5 years and I don't usually get to see them.“

8101 Bustleton Ave, Philadelphia“My son began learning martial arts from Mr. Bob 3 years ago. We signed up for a few trial classes at first, and in no time it was obvious that Bob Poole is the perfect blend of expert martial artist, master-teacher and kind-hearted human who isn't afraid to show his quirks. Students in Mr. Bob's dojo can't help but enjoy class, because HE is so determined to enjoy his classes. The energy is always fun, focused, and electrified by the enthusiasm and wisdom he constantly shares. He's a true "unicorn" martial arts master: Sensitive to the needs of children, Truly hilarious-while professional, and an awesome role-model with multiple black belts across a significant range of fighting arts.“

127 Ark Rd, Mt Laurel“I am a student at Action Karate in Mount Laurel, New Jersey under the tutelage of Masters Peter Liciaga and Colan Magill. I have been training at this school for a little over 6 months. Throughout the course of my life, I have been in and out of martial arts. I have actually attended six different martial art schools. By far, this has been one of the greatest experiences that I have had thus far. These gentlemen do not only teach you the art but but prepare students for life by Applying the principles within the arts to life’s journey. They use the martial art to help develop personality and build strong character within the students preparing them for healthy and productive living. The classes are structured and disciplined, yet nurturing to each individuals needs. While there is a very strong emphasis on the techniques and how we execute, of equal importance within this dojo are character traits and values such as respect, humility, integrity, teamwork, perseverance and mental resilience. All of the instructors teach and train us in a manner that is supportive creating an atmosphere that motivates us to show up and give our very best in all aspects of training. I would recommend the school anyone that is interested in Martial arts, and both personal and physical development.“

476 Centennial Blvd #3, Voorhees“Recently started with the team at Budo. I have both my kids in the first weeks of their training and signed up because we were invited to a birthday party there of all things. The staff was extremely friendly (coach Brandon) at the party and invited us back for a true class. Immediately after the class both my kids asked if they could do it again (Coach Josh and Coach Seth really made them feel welcome. There was a sign in the lobby greeting them). We signed up after a great personal meeting with Coach Seth. He laid out that the plan for the kids was to focus on discipline, getting stronger and gaining confidence. This wasn’t anything my kids were particularly lacking today but I could tell that the staff there were just going to help them both grow in those areas and more. At 7 and 4, I wasn’t too sure my kids would take to it as quickly as they did but to my surprise, they look forward to each class and really spend the 45 minutes while there honed in on listening to the coaches and sensei. Initial experience has been extremely positive and worthy of the 5 stars. I look forward to seeing both kids grow a Budo.

I can't wait to learn more and grow with this amazing art form! I'll be sure to update later as I go along!“

“I tried out Muay Thai this place a while ago, during a time when I was searching for a new martial arts school. Even though I ultimately decided to move in a different direction, Derek was a very nice man and I like him. He's very personable, and knowledgeable too, which is good. I still follow Strikezone's page on Facebook. Depending on what opportunities arise for me in the future, I would be open to possibly trying out Muay Thai again at some point :o)“
