Such a Lovely Jersey City studio. The person at the check-in desk was very helpful and welcoming to get me situated for my first class. Since then, I have had two more classes. I am not a fan of hot yoga, so I took two kinds of unheated classes. Both were led by competent instructors who knew their material well and were welcoming and kind. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is that I am not a fan of music during class. Call me old school, but I prefer to be focused on my poses and my breathing and not disturbed by melodies or lyrics. Really loved this class. The instructor explained everything clearly. At one point my hands got a bit sweaty and I was slipping on the mat, and she noticed and quietly brought me some wipes-such a thoughtful touch! And I really liked what she said about not always repeating what we already know, but being open to exploring new experiences. That stuck with me. Overall a great experience.

Love Surya Yoga!! I’ve been searching for a new yoga studio and I found it! The studio and staff are so welcoming, I’m taking advantage of the new client pass so I’ve been able to take classes with different instructors and find who works best for me. The studio is clean and easily accessible in downtown JC. I highly recommend Surya Yoga!
