About Hoboken University Hospital
Hoboken University Medical Center is a teaching hospital in New Jersey that offers a range of healthcare services, including emergency care, surgery, obstetrics, orthopedics, and stroke treatment. It is affiliated with New York Medical College and is part of CarePoint Health. The hospital serves the local community and provides residency training for future doctors. Patients generally find the hospital staff to be kind and attentive. Many appreciate the nurses, especially those in Pediatrics, who go the extra mile to help with surgical recovery. Patients often mention that staff members are caring and professional, with some highlighting specific employees for their helpfulness and positive attitude. The hospital is clean and maintains a professional environment, with staff walking extra miles to assist senior citizens and making efforts to accommodate patient needs. However, some reviews point out that certain areas of the hospital need updating. The operating room appears dated and is often cold, while pediatric rooms can be too hot, indicating poor temperature regulation. Patients suggest that staff do their best to adjust these conditions when informed. Concerns about the quality of post-operative food are raised, with some foods containing ingredients like red dye, gluten, and high fructose corn syrup, which are not ideal for recovery. There are also suggestions for providing warm blankets as patients transition out of anesthesia, to improve comfort. Overall, while the hospital provides good care and has dedicated staff, its outdated facilities and some areas for improvement in patient comfort and food quality are noted. Patients hope the hospital considers these feedbacks to enhance the overall experience.

My baby girl was admitted for 12 days with a severe RSV infection. The nurses all of them constantly checked in on her, and especially nurse Dina and Dana (who I am extremely grateful to)...read full review
A couple of weeks ago, I had knee surgery that I was extremely nervous, anxious, and honestly afraid about. By the time I arrived at the hospital, my anxiety was through the roof and I was even looking for reasons to change my mind…lol.
But from the moment I walked in, I was met with one of the most welcoming and caring staffs I could have hoped for. From the front desk, to the prep room, all the way into the operating room, everyone was warm, kind, and reassuring. It instantly put my mind at ease. They made me feel like I wasn’t just another patient—they genuinely cared.
I can’t imagine how I would have felt if they hadn’t been so comforting during a...read full review
