The front desk experience here was extremely disappointing. I tried to schedule my first appointment, and from the very first phone call, the woman at the front desk was noticeably negative and unnecessarily pushy about me “showing up on time.” As a first-time patient, it felt unfair and uncomfortable to be spoken to as if I would be unreliable.

Today, I called again to ask whether my insurance had been verified by the office. My plan is through a corporate provider with no out-of-network benefits, and most PT offices these days verify insurance for new patients. Instead of checking or giving any guidance, she responded with, “How would I know that? It’s your job. Just bring your insurance.”

At that point, I decided to cancel my appointment. The lack of professionalism and courtesy from the front desk made it clear that I would feel uncomfortable continuing treatment here. The doctor may be great, based on other reviews, but the front office desperately needs better management and training. First impressions matter, and this kind of customer service will absolutely drive new patients away.

Dr. Lee was very professional and effective when he treated my shoulder pain a few years ago. I was not expecting so much information about nutrition, but all of it made sense and no doubt helpful (though may not be for everyone). I highly recommend Dr. Lee!

Dr Lee is AMAZING!!! He healed me with his advice and skilled acupuncture talents. I could hardly walk two years ago when I first arrived in his office and now I am jogging on a regular basis. He's the best!!!

Update: I appreciate Dr. Lee responding to my review in an apologetic matter, therefore I increased it from 2 to 3 stars.

As I mentioned, I have severe mold toxicity, and that is another reason I am different from most patients, and difficult to treat. The disease compromises my healing processes as the mycotoxins continue to recirculate in my body. This could also make me more susceptible to pain. As the dry needling took place, I recall being told to just hang on for a minute, not to stop. However, I'm not here to debate. Of course I was not forced. As a patient we sometimes put all our trust in practioners, hoping they'll know best when to cease treatment if the patient is in pain. In the moment, most people are in shock, and it is difficult to speak up.

And yes, I completely agree to much omega 6 is bad, but not everyone can tolerate the anti-inflammatory foods that are high in sugar or fiber. I actually tried having berries with hemp protein and was in pain for hours because of the excess fiber.

Thank you again to Dr. Lee for recognizing what he can work on in his practice and for wishing me a well recovery.

    Initial Review:

I saw Dr. Lee 12 years ago and at the time his treatment was quite effective. He actually helped me pass a gallstone and the needles did not hurt at all. The reason I did not go back was because I found out that I had mold toxicity and knew that It was something his practice did not specialize in.

Fast forward to this year, I thought it would make sense to go to him for my back injury, since it is not getting better. Well it was a huge mistake. First he showed me a generic video about nutrition and omega fats. I was almost insulted because my diet is extremely clean and there is nothing wrong with me having some pumpkin seed protein powder. Most of my diet is incredibly anti-inflammatory. He assumed this wasn't why my back injury was not healing. I'm extremely offended by this because the way I was hurt was very traumatic and not typical of other people's back injuries. He then did dry needling on me which was one of the most painful experiences of my life. He Also beat my hips with a bag of some type which was also painful. I then had him treat my reproductive area - that did not hurt at least.

I was in pain for over a week after the treatment and not one of my symptoms improved in any way. As I stated before, I saw improvement immediately after his treatment 12 years ago. I expected to at least have things go in the right direction this time, not get worse. I do understand that most treatments take time and patience, but I know my body very well. I should have said stop as soon as he put the dry needle in. Let me tell you it is important to speak up. He honestly should have stopped when he saw how uncomfortable I was. From all the healing experiences of my life nothing that caused extreme pain was helpful. Dr. Lee is not a bad person but he is not the right choice for everyone's needs.

Dr. Lee literally saved me from weeks of pain. I hobbled in there with severe back pain and left there like a new person. He is so knowledgeable and zeros in exactly on the issue. If you have never had acupuncture before, it can be a bit alarming, but it really does the trick and he is a miracle worker. I have to acknowledge the bad reviews regarding the receptionist. The front office is run by the doctor's mother, who does not speak English well. She is very kind, but may sound on the rough side unintentionally. If you are having a hard time communicating, leave your number and ask the doctor to call you back. Then you have smooth communication. I really do not think that there is a better acupuncturist in Bergen County, so in the end, it is all about great treatment, which is exactly what you will get here.

The absolute best!! I have been seeing Dr Lee for many years now for various ailments. He is one of the only Drs. I really trust with my health and well being. He is so skilled, knowledgeable, kind, curious and caring. He really listens to his patients. I feel so lucky to have found such a great acupuncturist, who also happens to be an incredible human being.

    Absolutely THE Best.
I have been going here for last +20 yrs whenever I get hip, back and neck/shoulder pain from work and sports. And I always see drastic improvement and heal.
Other doctors may recommend motrin to relieve pain but Dr Lee recommends natural organic remedy to root out the cause of the pain and inflammation.
