I have been a member of this gym for four years. Very abruptly a few days ago they announced that the gym would be closing after telling us for months that it was just going to be relocated on the same property. They have mistreated their employees and the members by not letting anyone know of their plans. Now there is simply a sign posted on the door that tells us that we were transferred to a different gym and they will accept all of our memberships. I am handicapped and cannot go to the other gym, therefore I have attempted to call and cancel my membership and get my annual fee that they just charge me refunded. No one from this gym can help me on the phone, they refer me to the new gym island gym. When I contacted island Gym this morning they told me that they do not have any records for the membership from matrix gym. I managed to get the credit card shut off before they could charge me for the month of September. I implore other members to contact their credit card company to dispute charges if they are not going to go to the other gym. Very poor actions on the part of this company and the fact that they will not talk to any of their now former members.

I was going to go to this gym but by a brief look at the reviews it’s a scam gym dealt with these in the past not even worth it to try and save the extra 10-15 dollars just go to a regular gym or let them charge your account

I’m going to say from the beginning I had a great time cause I always love to go there a dance all the time with my own Bluetooth speaker until the staff members threw out my speaker without writing me a email me or call me for a warning to come get my speaker before they throw it away and I was highly upset and I was a member there and they treated me like a guess but the owner didn’t even care to solve the situation at all so I never came back sense.

Priced right. Courteous and knowledgeable staff. Friendly too. Space efficient. Good variety of equipment. Great hours of operation. Classes and trainers on site. Convenient parking (free). Other members are encouraging. Smartphone app. is easy to use. Great facility!

Easy gym large w everything and no wait. Dude only 19 $ month full cardio, massage chairs, small boxing room, many weight machine etc. No hassles.

Got to work out for free here when I stayed at the Showboat for the Mr. America. Small but had everything you needed. Was real cool too meeting people from all over the country who came up here pursuing their athletic ventures.

I am very surprised to read such different reviews from experience here.I was greeted immediately and one of the managers I believe her name was Kerry helped me through the whole billing process and different classes I can take.I just had a baby so she helped me pick out the best machines to use to get back in shape. I love going here it’s my mommy time!

2 years I have not been to the gym. Still dealing with the cancellation process. 2 years later get charged $116. For no reason. Do not ever join this gym. They use abc financial. Worst company ever.
