I reached out to Sensei Nic asking if he would have me as a guest while I was in New Hampshire for work. I train under a very credible Kyokushin school with a strong lineage in Canada. Sensei Nic's training is true to his own lineage and shows a clear grasp of the Kyokushin teachings.I was impressed with his students as well, who showed me great hospitality while I attended training with them, and welcomed me fully.Sensei Nic has a unique approach to developing kumite which I found very challenging as well as novel which I appreciated greatly. My guess is that if you are interested in Martial Arts training for you or a child, the main question you would have is something like "How do I know if the instructor is legitimate?" Nicholas Savery can trace his lineage DiRECTLY to the founder of Kyokushin. His lineage is as direct and solid as any on planet Earth(for real). In addition to being a thorougly trained, vetted and competetent instructor, he is also a world-class competitor in both Kata and Kumite. If you want a gold star for putting your uniform on correctly, this is not the place for you. If you want to learn, train and follow the Kyokushin way(and it ain't an easy), this is one of the very best to...read full review

From Meikyo Dojo, LLC

Meikyo Dojo offers classes in Kyokushin Karate, a system of traditional karate originating in Japan. Nick Savery opened Meikyo Dojo in January of 2013 at its current location in Hudson, NH after many years teaching in other locations. Since opening we’ve made it our mission to build a community around our passion for Kyokushin. Meikyo can be translated as “a brightly polished mirror,” or “mirror of the soul.” The essence of karate can be viewed as the continuous polishing of our techniques and ourselves. It is through this persistence to “polish” that we make gradual improvements to body and mind. Dojo translates to training hall, making Meikyo Dojo a place to polish the body and mind.
