Buzz Durkin's Karate School is a welcoming dojo where everyone feels included and belongs. The knowledgeable and patient senseis treat students like family, providing more than just martial arts training. They also teach phenomenal leadership and life skills that students will carry for life. The school exceeds expectations, fostering confidence, discipline, and valuable life lessons.
A great school with great sensei's. I trained as a youth and took off many years; everyone, from the sensei's to the students, all made the transition back feel natural and comfortable. Not only is there more knowledge about the art here than any one person could learn in a lifetime, there is no end to the admirable character of everyone involved. Highly recommend if you're interested in self defense or looking for an amazing community of dedicated and understanding people.
My kid has been going to Buzz Durkin’s karate school for about 7 years. The way the senseis work with the students and treat everyone like family, sparked an interest in me to give it a try. Best decision ever. At my age, I thought it would be too hard to start anything new, but I was wrong. They have a way of working with anyone and bringing out their best
We have been impressed with the wonderful senseis, the excellent communication and the quality of the training that our child has received.
In his years at the dojo he has grown so much - and continues to grow and learn. He is physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger than when he began his training. We have also noticed great improvement in his self-control, confidence, and overall happiness.
The dojo is one of his favorite places and one of the best choices we have made for him and our family.
