“We needed our shingles replaced after high winds lifted many shingles off the front side of my house. I contacted owner TJ thinking he’d refer me to his project manager, but he became my point of contact instead. His crew came out immediately and put tarps over the missing shingles so it wouldn’t rain into our home. The insurance company initially determined payment would only cover replacement of a few shingles, but we knew full replacement was necessary. TJ took it upon himself to work directly with the insurance company to get full replacement value, no legwork by me. This involved documenting the lifted shingles one at a time with photos. My roof is a very steep 12/12 pitch roof so this process was slow and methodical. Once he convinced the insurance company to increase their payment, he explained to us the type of shingles available and gave us samples and addresses of homes we could see in person. We chose a color similar to our existing shingles, but moved up to a Class 4 hail resistant type. My wife was concerned the process of removing the old shingles would damage the flowers and bushes surrounding our home. So TJ had nets installed around the roof to collect the old shingles. The team also cleaned up nails and other debris after each day so we could park in the garage. The overall project proceeded very smoothly. It took 4 days, but that’s because we have a huge roof and the steepness required the workers to wear safety harnesses. After the job was done, TJ once again worked with the insurance company to reduce our homeowners insurance costs since we now have Class 4 shingles. Overall, very satisfied and would highly recommend Platinum Roofing.”
